Hey I just want to say it was great watching this video it actually my and my partner hometown but we now live up in the northeast and i would have to say I can’t see why Portsmouth is in the top ten bad place to live in the uk when there is so much to do there and the local people are so friendly and welcoming and I love watching your videos mate keep up the great work

At ten mins in my nans ood flat in landport and the egremont arms, used to be such a nice vibrant area ! Changed now like a lot of Portsmouth

I was born there and lived there for about 7 years. It's always been a densely populated city. However, over the years it's become more run down and deprived. The problem started with poor local government who did nothing to attract big retail or businesses coming there. Instead they opted to attract students for the university and turn former business into accommodation. Students are generally transient and only a small minority stay and develop businesses. Most of the time they leave the town in a mess. They have no pride in their environment and only interested in late night economy. There's now a lot of migrant people hanging around street corners which discourages people from living there. The city centre has been lost most shops along Arundel street are boarded up. The area was given up to homeless and drug dealing many years ago without dealing with the problem. The cascades shopping centre pretty much exists on Primark and it's roof leaks in multiple places. If you look along the coast at Southampton they have managed to attract businesses and larger companies. The seafront is reasonable in summer and old Portsmouth is nice along with historical dockyard. Copnor, some parts of Southsea and possibly Eastney as residential areas are probably the best places left to live.

You didn't mention our unique hovercraft service to the lsle of Wight the only one in the world. The problem with this country is our shit parliament that despises 2 parent families that want to bring there kids up responsibly

Really enjoyed your video of my birth town. Everywhere has plusses & minuses, but I think you came to the right conclusion with Portsmouth & Southsea. It's even nicer in the sun, you should visit again in the summer.

We aren't perfect in Pompey, and our town centre shop choices are crap, BUT, I don't agree that it is the 3rd worst place to live. Other cities are far worse. Thank you for showing the positive parts of our lovely city 💙

Great city. Lived and worked there for 6 years in 90s. Went back recently and omg what a change. Gunwharf Quays is amazing but its ripped heart out of old pompey. Old portsmouth is the best. Stunning history. Mate if you want to see rough get down North End and Fratton. Good video tho.😊

I have lived here for 16 years now. In the last couple of years, it really has gone down hill. To much traffic, to many cars. High crime rate, homeless big problems. New blood needed. Council out of touch, need I say more. You should of spoken to more people to get a real picture of a run down over populated city.

That's a shame. I'm a wheelchair user, disabled. It's a struggle to get round this city, bad pavements, kerbs etc. I could show you places in Portsmouth, that would make your hair stand up!

Yes, is a shame my friend. A big problem in Portsmouth is the students graduate after three years here, then leave because there is not a lot for them to do here, as that man said in your video. There is a lot of history here tho, D-DAY, second world war. Maybe you could come back for a second tour, I would gladly go around with you and show you the good (and bad parts of Portsmouth) get some different views from locals, people?
