Filipa Azvedo was chosen to represent Portugal at the 55th Eurovision Song Contest. She managed to do the same as Flor-de-lis last year - qualify for the Final with her Há Dias Assim.
Who is she?
Filipa Azevedo is only 18 years old but has already a victory of the talent show Família Super Star in her portfolio, winning it in 2008, at the age of 16.
From then on, she participated in numerous TV shows and recorded her first CD. She studied transverse flute, from the age of 12, at the Music Conservatory of Porto. She presently lives in London, where she studies Music Technology and Music Production.
The writer of the song, Augusto Madureira, has been a journalist for over 20 years. But music is an old love in his life: he started studying piano at the age of 6, at the Music Conservatory of Faro.

Eurofans logic: 1. Translate the lyrics to English. 2. Change the country's name to Sweden, Norway or Russia. 3. Eurofans be like "omg, this is a masterpiece". 4. Places top 5. So underrated, it deserved a top 10 indeed, beautiful lyrics, great voice and emotional performance. Portugal please never stop singing in Portuguese, better be last defending your music and culture than being 1st with a cheap and recycled pop song.

This girl had a terrific voice. Unfortunately, her album didn't sold well and a couple of years ago I saw her working in a jewelry store. I was so embarrassed to talk to her about this. I hope she can find her spot in music, she deserves it.

Telma Oliveira Don't take any notice of that. The fact that she worked or works in a shop could only be a break to think things through and rest her musical mind a bit. Sometimes it helps to do other things than you usually do and then come back.

Eurovision is a song contest, not a singer contest. Filipa is obviously a great singer, but with a song that sounds like ten thousand other songs (Disney anyone?), you can't get noticed. Acompanho o festival desde 1997, e essa música da Filipa foi a melhorh desde então. Pra mim só não ficou mais acima por 2 motivos: Um pq não cantou em inglês e pq 2010 foi o melhor eurovision que eu já vi! Só musicão, era dificil mesmo.

The jury placed this song in 2nd place in semi-final 1. It's a lovely song that's well performed. It's certainly not a winner, so let's not get carried away. If we're marking the quality of singing, then Portugal beats Germany (why they're being compared is bizarre). I do agree that Portugal struggles for votes in Eurovision, there's no denying it!

"90 % das pessoas estrangeiras que estudam o portugues, preferem o brasileiro, por que será?" 1º Porque a fonética e gramática são mais fáceis de aprender; 2º Muitas palavras são derivadas do Inglês; 3º Não vale a pena comparar o grau de Turismo (e até mesmo o território) de cada País, certo? 4º É um País do Continente Americano (não preciso acrescentar mais nada neste ponto); 5º Os sites de tradução e afins disponibilzam muito mais o Português do Brasil pelos motivos acima referidos.
