I really like this drill. Is the ball supposed to be so far back in your stance? How does this help with the drill?

I'd say the handle just couldn't be leaning as much or if not at all. If you have too much shaft lean as driver your club face will be open at impact since the club is way longer than an iron.

I would think you have to be careful here to make sure you’re not open at address with this move vs your back to target drill a few weeks ago which is gold.

Yes, exactly! which is why when you preset impact, you’re keeping your sternum facing the ball while you open your hips and press the handle forward!
