Set in the 1980s in New York City, Pose is a dance musical that explores the juxtaposition of different segments of society in New York, including the ball culture world. The intelligence & Beauty,Well Educated,talented Writer and Producer Janet Mock truly delivered in writing the read for Elektra addressing Candy and Lu Lu in this season 1 episode 8 finally. The days of tv show Dynasty in the 80s reads was everything like this from Blanche Devereaux played by Iconic actress singer Diane Carroll when she would read Alexis play by Joan Collins. The grown and hair and makeup was spot on Elektra was giving for that era ...... Dynasty was the show back then everyone watched it just like people are turned on to this show.

Oh, Elektra. ♥️ See, people be saying that the actress who is playing Elektra is too much, and her acting is not up to par. But I disagree. Elektra is glamour, she's diva, she's extra and fabulous. She's drama. And the drama actually works. If Dominique would have came in and tried to Meryl Streep it, it wouldn't have had the same impact. We needed some Diva Extra Ballroom REALNESS for Elektra, and that's what Dominique Jackson gave us. This scene was EVERYTHING IN LIFE. Elektra/Dominique was giving us a lesson on reading, and I was taking notes.

Yeah, so it's a little mind boggling: that houses take in kids and welcome them and take care of them and involves them in a culture of nastiness and insults and backstabbing. I did see somebody on the reality show Legendary that said: "all that shade is for the ballroom floor, but offstage we all love each other." Hope that is true, because this scene there really isn't anyone lifting anyone up and making them feel valued.
