In all honesty I think it’s kinda mean to call this a cringe compilation. It doesn’t matter if you think their art sucks, at least they tried. Everyone has their own art style, so who are you to judge? It doesn’t matter if their art isn’t how you think it should look. I think a lot of these people did great jobs.

@aBritAndABrain TM I think they should’ve been more specific. They most likely mean: "The colours are so vibrant, they make you lose focus on the oc's colour pallet." (Atleast that’s what I think.) The problem with these bright neon colours is that they don’t fit well. If you want to use neon, atleast make a fitting colour pallet of it.

The only thing that matters is if they're having fun drawing. "Cringe compilations" make them feel like they are being judged for what makes then happy. So please, give better criticism, be less rude, and let them have what colors they want. Just because they are super bright doesnt mean you have to tell then to use "pastels" all the time.

A few notes- 1. It’s ok to use the circle tool, as a base for the head or body. But if it shows up in the actual line art, then maybe it’s something to think about. But the circle tool it really helpful for a base for the head. 2. Not all colors are going to be pastel. Some people make the colors bright on purpose! To make the color pop! Don’t say that for every single piece with bright colors needs to have pastel colors or dull colors. 3. These are beginners that are doing these. Cut them some slack, ok? Saying things like, “at least it’s not as bad as the first one” can really damage confidence to the first persons meme. Give PROS AND CONS not just cons. 4. Every time you said, “Make up your own art style” you said that, even though they do have their own art style, you just aren’t a fan of it. 5. Be gentle picking out what words you use. “Eyebleeding” is not a very good thing to say when it comes to colors that are bright. 6. How would you feel if you worked hard on something, and someone took it and said to basically start over and make it better. You practically said that many times.

I Just wanna say you shouldn't have the audacity to come here and talk about proportions when your character legit doesn follow any of the rules for anatomy it just annoys me to the core you are disencouraging these people from their style. I'd never advised anyone to change their artstyle because it's "terrible", or any other related things. I'll also probably not say their animation is terrible or anything, because almost everyone starts off like that. If you told them from the beginning that you're bad and you should start changing, it can have a large impact on their lives. Those kids will learn on their own, don't rush it because learning naturally is the best way. Instead, just tell those kids to keep on animating, don't encourage them to have the same art style if it's not that good, instead just compliment them.

Ok... there are some things that are really peeving me that I would like to say 1. “Mettaton’s colors are too bright. Make them pastel.” Yeah ok, but is that part of Mettaton’s design? No. No it’s not. Mettaton does not have pastel pink. He has bright pink. You can’t blame the person for the use of colors if that’s the actual color of the character, at least if the character doesn’t belong to them 2. “You shipped the OC with Foxy.” I’m gonna say this right now and hope people heed my words. A *SHIP* IS NOT A *FLAW.* Why is it a bad thing that they shipped their OC with Foxy? Because he’s “overused?” So does that mean if people ship their OC with Loki from the MCU, the OC is flawed? Loki is a character that so many people like, dare I say “overused.” It’s not the person’s fault that the character is often shipped with OCs. If they like the character and want to ship their OC, let them ship their OC. A *ship* is not a *flaw.* 3. “Make another OC and ship him with the female one.” ... what? I’m sorry, just... what? What do you mean, “ship him with the female one?” I’m gonna assume that by “female one” you mean Mangle? I know Mangle’s gender technically isn’t confirmed, but I see her as female so yeah. Is that why the Foxy x OC ship is a “flaw?” Because Foxy x Mangle is already a thing? Foxy x Mangle isn’t even canon. And besides, who cares if the character already has a canon ship? If someone wants to bend the world of said fandom where the character is shipped with their OC, they’re allowed to do that. And... why do they need to make another OC? This sentence is so poorly worded that I have no idea what it means 4. “I don’t like the colors of the black pony. It needs changing.” And what are you, God? Who gave you the right to demand someone else change their OC because you don’t like it? How would you feel if I told you to make your angel thing a different color because I don’t like blue? There's nothing wrong with self-shipping, it's not gonna hurt anyone if somebody ships themselves with a fictional character. "Shipping yourself with foxy" isn't an animation flaw, saying that just makes you look like a salty person who glorifies in being mean to people who are "cringey". With a lot of these art styles, they're more than likely kids no older than 11 just having fun and being confident enough to post their videos. Of course they aren't gonna have masterpieces, of course the colors will be a bit more bold, of course they're gonna use sliding in flipaclip. I’m really not trying to be mean, but not EVERYTHING has to be “pastel” colors. Have you even SEEN Undertale? It LIVES for neon colors! I get insane rainbow ones, but these people don’t deserve hate. They tried hard! Everyone has rough phases. You were like that once too. Now for the OC’s. As I said, EVERYONE has rough phases. My OC used to be a combination of like, literally 15 Sans’ I liked! Your videos are entertaining but I have some tips, you don't need to follow them (just suggestions): 1. Try rethinking the title, "cringe compilation" can really hurt the feelings of the artists included. 2. Not everyone's OC has to be in a pastel color. I understand you personally like pastel-colored OCs, but everyone's got their own style you know? 3. Instead of just criticizing the art, you could give constructive criticism like instead of: "The lineart is super messy, it's not good." You could say: "Try turning up correction, it can really make a difference in line art. The art itself is good, but you could clean up the lines." 4. CIRCLE TOOLS ARE OKAY. Sure, most "professional" artists don't use the circle tool, but it's alright to use a tool to help.

I don’t see the point of hate for circle tool. Circle tool is just a tool to help you create perfect circles if you don’t know how. Also in all do respect, this is NOT critique in my opinion. The way I was taught is this : one praise, and a suggestion. You gave these artists a bunch of suggestions. They are improving. Give them ONE thing to improve on before moving on. Like taking baby steps. Also your opinion of what they should do with their art is not helpful or necessary. Let them do what THEY want. Give them room to improve before getting into the big stuff. I have nothing wrong with the idea of constructive criticism, but I feel like saying use a different art style is too much. Art style is a unique thing and yours looks unlike any other. If i told you you should only draw realistic people, that aren’t blue or cartoony, you wouldn’t like it. I get that their art style may need some WORK, but not to be completely changed.

If she really wanted to give critism then she would’ve taken into account the age of the person and the stage of art they’re in bc everyone is different and these are mostly kids who are probably no older than 11 who more than likely started dabbling in art. She wouldn’t tell them to change their art styles bc the only thing kids learn from someone saying that is that their art sucks and they should stop drawing bc it “doesn’t look good”. Art style is subjective and evolutionary, if all you have to say abt an art style is to change it, but not give tips on how to change it and encourage young artists then you’re just an asshole. *dont use the circle tool!* A lot of people use the circle tool as a basic shape of there OC like Scoots (Scootaloo loves sans) and i do too alot :3 so the circle isn't the end of world. Also it does help them get better. I made circle heads and now i can draw more realistic heads. Just so you know :3 Edit: wow omg i didn't see this coming. Okay i understand that the circle should be a reasonably size but some people will still say that it's bad to use it. Im just saying maybe don't repeat the process again and again. And also, if you see some of scootaloo's speedpaints, you'll see what i mean. You saying they need to work on anatomy when you draw your sleeves so long they cover the hands. And saying everybody should get a unique art style like dude, nobody can get a art style in a day! It takes years to find a unique one that your happy with. You saying that the colors are "eyebleeding" is just offensive. Just because you prefer pastel colors does not mean everybody else does. You shipped yourself with Foxy" and below that "none of the flaws above will help you improve" Now listen, shipping yourself with Foxy or any other Character has NOTHING to do with the animation or the improvement. I love how every person who does these cringe compilations always complain about the artist using the fucking circle tool and how it won't help you improve. Well let me tell you something, it does . you're still drawing , you're always improving , eventually after practice and development they will strive away from the circle tool . alright.
