Not likely there was a lot of heavy equipment in those positions out on the fields south of the city. So no they didn't have to leave a lot behind. They have known they most likely had to leave those positions for weeks, so got lots of time to prepare the withdrawal and hot to get the equipment and manpower out. The forts is a los, but they had lots of time to mine them, so not likely they will be to that much use for the russians, but ofcause they also won't be help to the Ukrainians either.

Interesting comment about Russian bonuses for ground captured. Donetsk is coal mining country and mines pay miners production bonuses on top of a good industrial wage. They know how to make people produce. I was the "incentive technician" aka bonus clerk at an Arctic gold mine. We paid the best bonuses and attracted the best miners in the country. Some of them made twice as much in bonus as their basic hourly wage. The more gold they mined, the more money they made. The army is learning from the miners

Покровск - один из главных логистических хабов ВСУ на Донбассе, его взятие хотя бы под огневой контроль существенно нарушит снабжение всей Донецкой группировки, которая без того сейчас под сильным давлением. Но никто не говорит, что наступление не продолжится дальше на юг на Селидово или не возобновится на север к шоссе и по нему к Константиновке. Поживём -увидим.

В нарушении этого снабжения, собственно, план и состоит, а сам город вероятно будут брать по старому сценарию - окружение и котёл. Тем более сам Покровск может стать опорным пунктом уже для ВС РФ - для продолжения наступления на запад и на север вдоль дорог. В любом случае, как я уже сказал, мы всё увидим в ближайшие месяцы когда ВСУ откатятся до Новогродовки и начнут терять позиции на юге от Желанного до Карловки.
