Thanks for the video… I’m looking to buy one of these and did wonder what the difference is between the heater and non heater version is… now makes total sense.

I gotta do this tomorrow. I plan to use an old frying pan and a router with a templating bit on it. The frying pan is 25cm dia so perfect 😅

I've got this unit and have just (2 mins ago) fitted the heater unit to it. Mine has been in and running in my bungalow for 2 years (without a heater). I had a lot of condensation when we first moved in. Put the piv on a 2 room setting and it made little difference (2 bed bungalow) so I put it on max for 5 beds and now we have no condensation at all. It's worked great for us so far. We did find the hall where the piv vent is, is colder than the rest of the house hense why we have fitted a heater unit. I'm setting it on 10c because I don't understand the instructions and will plug an energy monitor in to see when the heater comes on. (It records when the watts on the piv goes up and for how long)

You can retro fit an addon to these units sold without the heater?

how are you getting on with the new heater fitted? does it cost more than you thought?

great vid. I have the same unit but can't access the settings as the unit has a lock code that I don't know, is there a reset code to access the settings if you know can't find it anywhere online.

13:40 I also found that the filters collapse quite considerably when the unit is in operation - reducing the surface area; In the brochure and images all the filters appear to be fully expanded/extended which is somewhat misleading in my opinion.

My girlfriend has one of these units and it is the heater version similar to yours, hers is constantly blowing out cold air, without instructions, and operating instructions I was wondering what setting on the control panel is in relation to getting it to blow out heat not cool air! I noticed one called (c10) from the menu and imagine you up this value to 20? But not 100% sure! Any help would be great

I’ve just installed one too mate and can’t seem to get the heating element to work so the air is a few degrees warmer going into the house
@martinp907Ай бұрын
Yes that's correct , at 20 it means if temp in loft drops below 20 heater kicks in so the air should be slightly warmer blowing into the house. It doesn't mean that the temp will be 20 degs being blown in . I'm sure I read somewhere heater is a max of 12 legs anyway 🤔
@jackearlam2963Ай бұрын
I’ve had to turn the heater right down as with it on i went from £60 electric a month to £180 a month 🙃
@martinp907Ай бұрын
@jackearlam2963 yea they claim it's a fiver a year to run 🤣 obviously not when running the heater !! It's 500w so if it's 38p per kwh that's working out at 18p ger hour to run !

Axia told me a fused spur was best to connect power supply
@robthesamplist Жыл бұрын
Yea they will as its a fixed device tbh a plug with the correct fuse will be just as safe obv if in a rented property do it as per manual and get a fixed fuse spur put in.

Hiya. Great video. But wondering is you know how to activate the heater? Not having much with the instruction guide lol.
@DIY_Easy Жыл бұрын
You are so right. I didn't find the instruction easy. To be honest, I used the mode button and where it says 'c', and I put that up to 19°c. My does give out a bit of a cold air but it's not cold as the loft space air. I am assuming it is working. Apart from the cold air around the lobby apace I haven't noticed any difference. I guess it's too early to tell. Maybe good for health as my family suffer from asthma. Do keep me updated on how it goes for you. Thanks.
@markscott5155 Жыл бұрын
@@DIY_Easy thanks. Will give that a try. Just moved into a new build were the unit has been installed but finding the hallway a tad cold (I know we’re in winter lol) even when heat has been on for awhile. Will see how it goes.

Ive got the same exact piv system, ive had it over 6 months now and see a big difference, i used to get condensation and damp in my living room, now I don’t see it, only get condensation in my bedroom due to the door being closed and 3 people sleeping in one room

@rossbrooks402 Жыл бұрын
In the manual it tells you that it requires a switched fused spur with the correct fuse
@robthesamplist Жыл бұрын
Yea but a plug with the correct fuse will do the same thing and is just as safe as long as the cable is protected.

I hear the heater is 400w so having that on 24/7 could be quite costly? 22p per hour or so (2023 kw rates Uk) Did you set yours to max temp and max fan speed? And have you noticed any crazy hike in utility bill? 😊
@DIY_Easy Жыл бұрын
I haven't noticed any spike on my bill I don't think it is much as you say as it probably doesn't use 400w constantly. I am still keeping my eyes on it and testing it. My main concern is Mould on my walls, and so far nothing yet.
