As far as ideas, I actually already love everything you do but maybe more individual movie reviews mixed in (I know you started with those but it would be fun to see you give your current takes on them, or for the more complicated plots, your thoughts on themes as you articule very well) or maybe even a few watch along with me type videos? Not sure if those are doable but it would be fun to see you react to specific scenes in movies ah! Honestly I’ll watch anything you post here though lol. As someone who loves slashers and homages to classic slashers, I was obSESSED with Prey at Night. The pool scene and the "final girl" scene have some of my favourite editing and horror choreo for the whole 2010s. I think it's proof that horror doesn't have to be a gorey Ari Astor style "perfect mindfck" (which has come into fashion at the end of the decade and the beginning of the 2020s) to be a valid and enjoyable part of the genre.

I have watched several kind of under the radar horror films from the 70s the past several weeks, which includes "Let's Scare Jessica to Death" (1971), "Messiah of Evil (1973), both of which I thought were okay, but not really my thing. Then I watched "Burnt Offerings" (1976), Alice, Sweet Alice" (1976), and "The Sentinel" (1977), of of which I really liked. The film I watched most recently was "Tourist Trap" (1979), which I loved, and it now might be one of my favorite horror movies.

Hearing you talk about The Discovery kind of reminds me of what I loved so much about The Leftovers. It’s a mystery tv show that follows the lives of residents of a small town a few years after many people vanished in a global rapture-like event and I always felt like the plot/writing seemed so accurate to the types of things that would happen if something like that actually went down. It’s really interesting to see a reimagining of the modern world following a specific global life/perspective altering event.

I have watched quite a bit of movies and one really great Tv series on Netflix. I go back to a few of my favorites from time to time ( The Big Lebowski) i'll list a few movies i've watched and rate them. Stand By Me 10/10. It's a classic and I watched it at a young age but wouldn't recommend it to this new generation of kids lol. Dragonheart Vengeance 3/10. C'mon nothing beats the O.G. plus David Thewlis is one of my favorite actors. Home dreamworks movie 8/10. I love the way Oh talks throughout the movie. I liked this more than the minions movie or even the secret life of pets. The Ritual 7/10 the creature in this movie is worth the watch but otherwise it was ok. I Care A Lot 7/10 its a very entertaining movie but I did not like the main character played by Rosamund Pike. I was kinda hoping she would die. Space Sweepers 8/10. Wow I think the work on this movie was impressive. I enjoyed this movie from start to finish. Moon 9/10. Sam Rockwell was so great in this movie. I really felt bad for a clone. Mute 8/10 this was a great movie on Netflix but my favorite part is seeing our buddy Sam Hill from the movie I mentioned Moon in a courtroom arguing with himself. I never knew Paul Rudd had it in him to play a bad guy. This movie is impressive. Last i'm going to give a shout out to the series Sweet Tooth 9/10. I feel the end of the series did drag but the cinematography is just gorgeous.

And so for ages when you (Sarah, if you're reading this) would mention it being your favorite movie, I was like "Really?? lol ok". And a couple of months ago I saw that The Ring was free on youtube (with ads) and I decided to revisit it because I had nothing better to do. Turns out, I had NOT seen The Ring. I must've been jumbling up memories of other movies. Anyway. Now The Ring is easily in my top 10 favorite horror movies. lol

Ended up watching The Discovery and High Life from this list (Def planning on checking out a few others) - I agree that High Life came off as a little pretentious and sometimes silly (some parts just made me laugh), but I guess I can kind of get where they were going with it. It was okay, not sure if I'd watch again. The Discovery was unexpected and I enjoyed it quite a lot more than I thought I might. The little twist inside of a twist was kind of fun and unexpected? I appreciated that. Thank you for these recs!

Spiral was decent, but for me ending makes it less good, it was obvious, and the way main character leaves in the end is little comical, also scene with Samuel L Jackson in the end is a bit comical, i think this film has tone problem, but i do like Chris Rock, and would like to see him in more of this kind of movies, or different movies, i think he did a good character, funny, but also had depth, he is on pair with Donny Wahlberg maybe little better. And yea, Running Man is classic, amazing classic, its just Arnold movie, no matter book , nothing, Arnold breaks 2017 nazi version of USA, what more can a person ask from a movie. Running Man 10 out of 10

In the Earth was such a love/hate one for me. It was gorgeous, and the horror was great. But I agree with the disjointed feeling. I’m coming on here cause I need help. My sister keeps trying to force me into/pressure me into watching a horror movie and I hate it. I keep telling her I don’t want to after being traumatized when I was little because I was forced to watch horror stuff. I don’t know what to do I don’t want to watch one and whenever she brings it up it makes me very uncomfortable. She won’t let up and won’t just accept that I don’t want to watch one. She literally gets mad at me about it and insists I won’t be scared. I’m 21 and I literally saw a little bit of the movie it and was paranoid for a week after thinking I saw penny wise everywhere, I don’t want to go through that again I literally couldn’t sleep in the dark until a couple months ago. But she just won’t accept it. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? I really need it. Any horror movie fans have any advice on how I can get her to leave me alone and just accept that I am not gonna watch one?
