Basically I say I've had the tap shut for approx 45 mins just to show the water it catches and that I used the la mans as normal as to keep the job roiling :) I also mention the pipe I was using was too small well the claw fittings wasn't carrying enough air to the blast pot so I swap out the claw fittings just to put me on until I get a pipe thats 1,1/2" from the la man to the blast pot

@art1muz13 I forget how loud it is in the van I have ear plugs in so don't realise the camera will struggle 😬

on 24:18 in to the video : If you make the fan housing hinged to your cabin, you can install a large fan. because if the side door of the compressor needs to be opened for maintenance, you simply hinge the fan out of the way of the side door

That's something I didn't even think of 😊 good idea 👌👍

If you've got a 24v supply available, you should be able to run two 12v fans in series (just make sure you can never try running only one at a time). If that won't work for you - you could get a DC/DC converter to drop from 24v to 12v (so you can run a single fan). Modern ones are efficient and (relatively) inexpensive. Just an idea or two. Thanks for the very satisfying to watch blasting videos. Stay safe out there.
@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
Oh that's a really good idea because 12v fans are easy to come by at a more affordable price than 24v. The compressor is 24v and running at the same time as the air would be required so ample amount of 24v I was thinking of tapping into the van for 12v but don't like that idea as that could drain the van last thing I need is to have issues getting home after a shift 😬 thanks for sharing 👍

Best thing I did on my water trap was to put a 12v auto bleed. If opens up the water trap every 20 mins for 5 seconds to keep it empty. Great addition.
@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
This water trap did have a auto drain but it worked with a float brilliant idea untill it stuck open 😬 I think if I piped all the traps to 1 12v auto bleed would be the way to go I've got the main trap then the la man's then the water trap on the pot then the water trap on the helmet filter but since the cooler was fitted hardly anything gets past the 1st trap so I could possibly keep the rest shut or just nipped open

Put a full size fan on a frame and hinge the bottom. That way you can move it out of the way when you need to get into the compressor door
@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
Nice idea👌👍 I was thinking cable ties and leave the cable on a plug and when I need access snip the ties 😂 hinge sounds better option though 👍

mick just a an idea perhaps an outlet pipe on both sides of the rig from under the bed so your not stuck to usin just the one side of the truck to feed your hose an there are 12 and 24 volt fans you could get to use on that cooler that you can hook up to the compressor via a relay so they only come on while its running and its generator is charging providing power but looks like a damn good solution to getting dry air to the end where it dont go muckin up the media clogging things
@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
The rate the cooler works is impressive a must for anyone that's blasting and a factory cooler isn't fitted to the compressor 👍 I'm still trying to find a nice cheap fan setup 😂👌

electric fans on cars ? got a mate works in a junk yard? attach um using zip ties through the rad just make sure to use a relay and fuse to protect your compressor

@cyberhornthedragon I'm keeping an eye out on market place I've seen them for 5£ just have to wait and see untill one turns up 😂

Buy a generator for the back, you'll be able to use the power for other things like lights. Screwfix have them in from £187.
@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
I kinda have a big generator sat in the back 😏 only problem it makes 24v I need to utilise that I was full equipped when I was 12v but this compressor is 24v 😬

@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's feeding it as the compressor is 24v but I've got some good idea's from folk in the comments 😊 I can use 2x 12v fans in line to make the power effectively 24v 😬 I wouldn't have ever even thort of that 😊
@cliveramsbotty6077 Жыл бұрын
if your compressor has 2 12volt batteries just connect to one of them for 12v
@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
Would that work as its got 2 12v batterys but the alternator is 24v?
@JeffreyDunaway-g3t Жыл бұрын
Yes it will work if you have a 24 volt with 2 batteries you can get 12 volts by just using the positive and negative from one battery
@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
@user-py7uk9ji5w yeah I get they are 2x 12v but wired up to make 24v and charging at 24v would it not course issues? Would open the door for more things I could do if so 😬
@JeffreyDunaway-g3t Жыл бұрын
Yea you can do it. I do it all the time running blasting lights on my compressor. I sand blast in America. You can get 12 volts by using one battery. Even though it's charging at 24.

@user-py7uk9ji5w oh sound that opens up a lot of possibilities like power for the electric deadmans and lamps etc. Thanks for sharing appreciate that 👌

have you looked at air powered fans rather than 110v , you wouls be fully mobile then and they dont waste much air
@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
Yeah I mention pneumatic powered fans but I'm not a big "fan"😏 I would perfer 24v
@tomgreen5788 Жыл бұрын
Why don't u get a battery fan and then a few big batteries like 8 amp hour ones and u should be fully mobile again if not a petrol generator will do

I can get a 24v off the compressor this is ideally what I'm after but need to find something that's got the right size shroud 👍

Hi Mick. You really need to speak to a compressed air specialist who will advise and you will also need to speak with you insurance guy,regarding Written Scheme of Examination.; 20:10
@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
@lesliebarker2872 I still fall into my insurance demands as it don't hold air I don't need to inform them. I'm covered to work with compressed air but not covered to store air ie in a vessel of type as my compressor is screw (on demand) and all the recivers auto drain when the compressor is shut off its safe to transport. I have updated my RAMS to add the 240 to 110 transfer and my fan and transformer is pac tested thanks for the heads up 👌👍 unless I'm missing something else?
