He did split already several times before you noticed. he played all 21 instruments in his firsts records. All those instruments were guitars, electric guitars, bass guitars, pianos, keyboards, drums, drum machines and percussion. If I could play a Fender and a Gibson, I'll be playing two instruments. If I could play a flute and a violin, I'll be playing two instruments too. For those trying to debate this, in his first album all the instruments he played were listed... He was a prodigy composing, writing, playing and in the studio. With the years, his talent reach levels where the 'masters in one instruments' wished to be; because he was mastering or being really good in each and every instrument of rock plus he was the ultimate showman.

And NO, playing a Fender Strat and a Gibson Les Paul is playing the SAME instrument -- an electric guitar. Otherwise I play 23 instruments, not including my eDrums, 88 key keyboard or my basses. Don't be silly. And Prince and his management LIED ON PURPOSE about this early on. Then he stopped repeating the lie and never again claimed to play more than 4 instruments after 1980. It's time YOU stopped repeating a lie that HE stopped saying 50 years ago.

@@Great-Documentaries man, "don't be silly"?'' F*ck you man, show some respect. (LOL) Those are different guitars, so different instruments recorded in different tracks for the mix. Maybe you need a dictionary or some grammar, IDK. By the way, pay attention to what you read because I'm not saying any lie: not with the use of the word instrument and not with how many instrument Prince could play. PAY ATTENTION SILLY BOY! (LOL again) "It's time YOU stopped repeating a lie that HE stopped saying 50 years ago." Where did I wrote that silly boy? (third LOL) Neither he or "the management" publicised he could play X number of instruments. He just listed in his first album all the instruments used. Period. In a TV interview in the 90s he was asked if he played 27 instruments, he answered with half a smile "maybe...". (last LOL dedicated to you) And obviously he could play more than four if you can differentiate a piano from a synth and a drum set from a tambourine and other percussions. End of Story

Actually, he’s correct playing 2 different guitars or any other instrument doesn’t qualify as seperate instruments. They’re still both an electric guitar

@@ptbempire "2 different guitars or any other instrument doesn’t qualify as seperate instruments" BUT! they still being TWO SEPARATE PHYSICAL INSTRUMENTS. That is the point!!! I was pointing that the legend of the 27 seven instruments is not real at all: he played the 27 instruments in the record but they weren't 27 different instruments: as anyone can see in the album credits. I wrote a comment hours before explaining this and other things to that condescending dude that call me "silly boy". The comment dissapeared. The poor boy is him who didn't even pay attention to what he read in my comment.

The name change thing in short; had a dispute with the record label over ownership of his music. Changed his name so that they wouldn’t own what he created under the new name. Changed it back to Prince once he was released from his contract. As a side note, he eventually got ownership of his music & then suddenly died soon after. 🤔 🤨

He wasn't a 'Christian artist', he was an artist who was became a Jehovah's Witness at some point during his career. He didn't really inject it into his music. And his catalogue is filled with tons of sexual content & 'controversial' themes. He was a an icon instrumentalist who could play 25+ instruments, wrote all his songs & many for other stars that became huge hits, produced his own stuff, played all the instruments on multiple of his albums, had an incredible voice and could dance his ass off. One of a kind.

He was supposed to collaborate with MJ on bad, but he had a problem with the line “Your butt is mine.” He didn’t want to sing that to Michael and didn’t want Michael singing that to him. 🤣

That's what he said, but I don't think he would have ever collaborated with MJ under any circumstance. He was a rival, he was the Joker to his Batman. Prince was super competitive and very much the boss in his world. Probably a little resentment too

@@tracyface69 He didn't hate him or anything like that on the contrary Prince loved Michael and liked his music. There was also a level of respect there because he knew that it was Michael who opened the door for black artists to gain more exposure. Evidence of what Prince thought of him would be his reaction to the news of MJ passing. I don't remember who told the story but upon hearing the news Prince cancelled rehearsals and stayed to himself for 3 days. Some could say he was mourning. He covered Michael's songs and never spoke ill of him in public. He joked but never disrespected. He joked with Chris Rock and you might have seen the promotional interview where the reporter asked a silly question "Who would win in a fight you or Michael?" He joked and said "Michael is a lover not a fighter". Contrary to popular belief they have hung out, talked, even played ping-pong according to another celebrity I forget. But yeah Prince wasn't about doing a collaborative performance, in my opinion I think he still held a grudge on the James Brown incident, he told somebody that he was so mad he wanted to "run him over with his car but didn't want the bill afterwards" lol We Are The World incident, the 88' Grammys, MJ being crowned king of pop, Janet recording stolen Prince music, MJ dad saying "Prince is average compared to Michael's talent" imagine Prince hearing that! He also had a problem with artists who lip-sync and he had an issue of MJ being inducted into the songwriters hall of fame and not Prince. Even though MJ only wrote about 25% of his songs.

Prince was a descendent of Black slaves from Louisiana. His father was a struggling jazz musician and mother a former jazz singer. His birth name is actually Prince and the reason he changed his name to his created Love Symbol, was due to the fact that the label he was trying to leave owned his master recordings AND his legal birth name until the year 2000. For 7 years he released albums under his symbol and was referred to in the media as The Artist Formerly Known As Prince and called The Artist to his face. However this was all very amusing to Prince. Who reclaimed his name in 2000 and also ended up getting the rights to all his original master recordings 14 years after that. His character in Purple Rain was biracial and many foolishly thought it was an accurate biographical film, which it wasn’t whatsoever. Prince was the single greatest artist producer musician in terms of overall talent from the entire rock and roll era. Wherever you stand on his music is irrelevant. His talent and genius are indisputable unless you just don’t know, are lying, or a stand up comedian. He may not have been THEE greatest at anything but he’s the only artist I can think of that was unquestionably ONE of THEE GREATEST at nearly EVERYTHING. Purple GOAT. And I while I don’t think he was a very good rapper, his style was more sing song flow like a funk artist. He was in his mid 30s and really didn’t take it all that seriously. But I prefer when HE raps compared to the others he had do it sometimes like Tony M. Prince was funny and his verses shady and silly. Dude had a real special sense of humor. And was plugged into his own unique frequency. I love MJ but on his best day he couldn’t hold Prince’s guitar case. Not in terms of overall talent, songwriting and producing. No comparison. Prince made other greats seem like amateurs in comparison. And he could steal any woman on earth from the hottest dudes all while wearing makeup, lace and 4 inch heels. Just a one off in every way. Black excellence personified. 💜💜💜♊️♊️♊️
