I've seen quite a few great bands at that venue, but I have to say Anathema were just.. magical, no other way to put it. Still get emotional when I watch it. I'm so sad all that happened to them and I hope they get to be in a good place someday

3 brothers: Danny Cavanagh (lead guitar, backing vocals), Vincent "Vinny" Cavanagh (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Jamie Cavanagh (bass guitar). Danny is the older brother of the twins, Vinny & Jamie. 2 siblings: Lee Douglas (female vocalist) is the younger sister of John Douglas (drums). The guy on keys, Daniel Cardoso, is the adopted Douglas brother according to Lee. 😊

And do not forget Duncan Patterson!! It was Danny best friend at school and play with them some years before call a quit. A fucking musical genius, that wrote some of Anathema classics. Anathema are not just two families. At some point they where the band of two musical genius. They are so good, so good, that they are probably the best band ever from they home town.

Anathema are an incredible band live. Saw them in Dublin Ireland, Utretch Netherlands, and Leeds U.K acoustic show. I think The female vocalist Lee Douglas has an amazing voice. You must listen to Dreaming Light, The Lost Song part 2, Temporary Peace, Internal Landscapes, A Natural Disaster just amazing songs. I think you did far too much research on them before hearing song, they were originally Doom Metal but transitioned into ambient prog rock. Their live shows ARE amazing. The two Kavanagh brothers have worked with all sorts of modern prog artists, Anneke Van Giersbergen, Devin Townsend, Mike Portnoy etc. Give them another listen they have have some brilliant songs.

They started as a Death and Doom band but obviously evolved greatly over the years

I followed and listened to them since their doom and more metalish begginings, that was quite a journey, so bad they got into debts because of the covid

They had to declare bankruptcy due to covid causing a number of tour cancelations, which also led to Vincent attempting suicide. So sad, I hope one day they're able to return, the world needs Anathema's music.

Have it on vinyl. Support the band. Thanks for the support, but the name is -ana-themahh spoken..Greek. "acursed" doom metal to its best. Next in line Katatonia, a doom metal sweatish band. Night is the new day album "Idle blood" song. Micheal Akerfeldt from Opeth produced and is part of. If Opeth at the end of "Blackwater Park" album by the same name. Steven Wilson produced that album...Wilson solo or porcupine tree "anesthetize" from "fear of a blank planet"? Whats the album thats kinda named the same....or as mentioned 1st song "harmony corine"? Who is he??? from "insergentes". Steven Wilson has won Grammys and doesn't give a fuck about them..knows it doesn't mean talent. All intertwined to make the next stage better.
