You have: Ivan Demidov: NHL Comparison=Kucherov Michael Hage: NHL Comparison=Thomas Lane Hutson: NHL Comparison=Quinn Hughes David Reinbacher: NHL Comparison=Alex Peterangelo Joshua Roy: NHL Comparison=Mark Stone Logan Mailloux: NHL Comparison=Arron Ekblad Jacob Fowler: NHL Comparison=Carey Price Owen Beck: NHL Comparison=Chandler Stephenson There's more prospects. But those are the cream of the crop. And those are their NHL comparisons. Does this mean they will all meet these standards? No. Does this mean a few probably will meet those standards? Yes. And if you ask me. If we have the next Kucherov and Quinn Hughes possibly in our system. I think we 100% have the best prospect pool.

@@stanleyfranks9891 Bro Johnson, Sillinger, Fantilli, Voronkov, Marchenko & Jiricek no longee qualify as prospects. Also, 3 solid goalies doesnt matter when we have a top 3:5 goalie prospect in that game. Im sorry but Mateychuk/Svozil/Ceulmans/Elick is nowhere near Hutson/Reinbacher/Mailloux/Engstrom. Finally lets just say Lindstrom=Demidov, then Hage, Roy, Beck, Kapanen, Mesar, Heineman, Kidney etc also beats out Brindley/Dumais/Del Bel Belluz

Wild fan here. I don't hate the spot and like he said top 12 is fine margins. Wild have 3 elite prospects at center, d and keeper right now. Missing on Stramel hurts but there's still time but for now it's a factor in rankings Yurov is getting slept on, and if we treated him like others do with Michkov (like they should) then you could certainly clement the Wild higher but again fine margins. You can forgive Pittsburgh, Boston, Tampa Bay, Edmonton and Florida for having empty cupboards as they mortgaged a lot to become champions or at least make it to the finals and the New York Islanders at least have been improving and have even made the playoffs two years in a row but my Ottawa Senators have *NO* excuse as they have missed the playoffs I think seven seasons in a row and finished 7th worst THIS year so it's the double whammy. A combination of trading away 1st round picks for players who didn't pan out and completely botching the 2021 draft where they reached and whiffed with their #10 overall pick have caused the perfect storm. And because THAT was so much fun Ottawa will actually forfeit a 1st round pick in 2025 or 2026 as a result of punishment stemming from their 2021 trade that sent Evgenii Dadonov to the Vegas Golden Knights and the subsequent invalidated trade that would have sent him from Vegas to the Anaheim Ducks in March 2022. Are you ALL laughing? You should be. And just earlier today we traded away our 3rd round pick in next year's draft to get rid of a guy in a trade we actually lost just a few years back so we can clear up some cap room to keep the guys that led us to the 7th worst overall record this past year! LMFAO. Cheers from Ottawa, Canada🍁

Regarding Askarov, Trotz went to Askarov and his agent before Saros signed his deal to let him know he is still part of the plan. All signs are pointing to Askarov taking over from Saros in almost identical fashion to how Saros took over from Rinne. Askarov likely comes up as Saros's backup either next year (25-26) and then Nashville does the 1A/1B dance, which Saros needs considering he plays 60+ games a season. Askarov likely takes over as more of a starter when he is 26-27 which is the same time Saros took over from Rinne. Saros will be 34-35 and starting to likely slow down. He will be an expensive back-up, but Rinne was a $5M back up in his last 2 years.

The top 3 prospects in the world right now are Mack, Michkov, and Smith. The Sharks have 2 of those, and Dickinson is at least a top-10 D prospect if not top-5. That's already game over for me. 2 years ago the Sharks were probably at the bottom of this list. Such a big turnaround with the rebuild! Having drafted 2 goalies recently and letting them walk (Beaupit and Gaudreau), their strategy this year was to target goalies heading to the NCAA or from Russia. The window they have to develop is much larger than the 3 year window from the CHL. With that strategy in mind, they drafted 2 of their top 3 goalies from the 2024 draft. Goaltending is the biggest need now that the defense is improving.

It’s why the Canes had to give up so much is because they gave up mid prospects. They were good quality but still pretty mid. Pono is a bottom 6 on a healthy team and Ville doesn’t have that high of a ceiling. The Pens just had such a weak prospect pool that makes those prospects look great in comparison. My top five prospect pools: 1. Montreal Canadiens [Ivan Demidov, Lane Hutson, Jacob Fowler] 2. San Jose Sharks [Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith, Sam Dickinson] 3. Minnesota Wild [Jesper Wallstedt, Zeev Buium, Danila Yurov] 4. Columbus Blue Jackets [Cayden Lindstrom, David Jiricek, Gavin Brindley] 5. Chicago Blackhawks [Oliver Moore, Artyom Levshunov, Frank Nazar] Hot take: I think Ivan Demidov is the best prospect in the 2024 draft. Mostly because when folks were talking about the three headed monster in 2020 prior to the time of the 2022 Draft (Lambert, Savoie, & Wright; all three were 16 years old respectively), folks were also talking about the 2023 Draft and the two potential generational talents in that draft (Bedard & Michkov; fifteen year olds respectively). Also being mentioned alongside talk of the 2023 Draft's potential generational talents was 2024's Ivan Demidov who was wowing the world as a 14-year-old and being thought of a generational talent back then too. Macklin Celebrini was not even talked about then. I didn't hear about Macklin Celebrini at all until last year. Just because Demidov was in the MHL rather than the KHL, that does not mean he is any less of a player than Celebrini. Personally, I think Macklin Celebrini projects to be a franchise centreman in the same vein as Jack Eichel which is hands down amazing alone. But Ivan Demidov is a potential generational talent, and it is even a consensus agreement that Demidov is the most electrifying player in the 2024 Draft. Just drafting Demidov gave the Canadiens their best prospect they have seen since they drafted Carey Price in 2005. That's how high on Demidov I am.

Both San Jose and Columbus as well as Philadelphia and Anaheim all have better prospects then Montreal or Minnesota

You’re going to find out why Macklin is by far the best player in this draft real soon. Demidov is a fanatic winger. Celebrini is an amazing CENTER. Centers >>>>> Wingers ainec. Macklin will influence the game far more than Demidov can at wing, and does. He’s elite in that he’s good at everything. EVERYTHING.
@wolfdreams15453 ай бұрын
@@OhYaSure I didn't dismiss that at all. I said he's going to be a franchise-level centreman in the same vein as Jack Eichel. Eichel is a dominant centreman who can take over a game, but Ivan Demidov has been smashing records since he was 14 years old, including those set by Alex Ovechkin. A reminder that Ivan Demidov is a flexible player who can play centre too. You might have confused him with Matvei Michkov who is solely a winger. As for Macklin Celebrini, he is not a prospect in the same vein as Connor Bedard who is viewed as a generational talent.

@@mike8099m In your opinion but Philadelphia's pool is carried entirely by Matvei Michkov and Oliver Bonk. Columbus only has Cayden Lindstrom, Gavin Brindley, and David Jiricek keeping their pool afloat. Montreal and Minnesota both have three potential franchise-level prospects in their pools: Minnesota has Jesper Wallstedt, Zeev Buium, and Danila Yurov; Montreal has Ivan Demidov, Lane Hutson, and Jacob Fowler. Quality > Quantity

@@wolfdreams1545 because bonk is bigger I put him over Hutson I’m not sure that guys that small can actually be great defensively. Especially in the playoffs they get exposed like Hughes did in Vancouver. Matvei should be better than demidov although demidov is clutch. I think in general Montreal fans get a little over valued there prospects because of there media. Time will tell

I get the sharks have calabrinie but im sorry the wings pool is better cossa and augestine are better then any of there goalie prospects and edvinsson and asp with wallinder johnanson are better then there dmen they have like as a whole in there pool and that doesn't even include our depth on d buuim of course as well and on the forwards end they win in terms of star power but depth wise Detroit wins it they havent been rebuilding as long and the wings have had way more picks over the last several years and for not having any lottery luck they have killed it but again my opinion and i respect yours i just think that the wings should be higher and also the sharks are lower then a few other teams
