Nice to see you back, Aaron! this makes total sense! It's like the same thing as when you break a bone and you're in a cast for a month or two and when it comes off whatever was in the cast is super thin and weak compared to the rest of you. I hope this becomes more common knowledge because surely there have to be exercises and physical therapy people can do to reduce these side effects? Stay safe folks!!!

Aaron thank you so much for making this video, I've never heard anyone talk about the after effects of binding. This was very helpful and I'm very happy to see you making videos again. You always have great insights and you're amazing at finding words to express your thoughts. I admire you so much.

I'm having top surgery soon (October or November) and my ribcage and breathing is fucked up even though I wear the good kush gc2b one.. but it's been 3+ years. Ofc it's 100x better than unsafe binding, but like you said, it still isn't optimal for the body. Thanks for a new video PAPITO PLANTSUINI 🌱

This!!!! I had top surgery in January after binding for a couple of years, and I've DEFINITELY experienced the after effects of binding. I notice it most after long shifts at work, and it hurts to breath or even stand up straight sometimes, and I feel it all in the area that used to be bound. It makes perfect sense that your muscles would be weakened over time from binding, but very few think of that in the post-op excitement. So glad you touched on this! Also, you're looking so handsome! :-)

This is super useful, thank you so much for making this video!! I feel like there isn't enough information on the side-effects of binding for a long time, so I'm really glad you talked about this. Also, your videos are really cool and you're really cool (but I'm not gonna say "don't worry about it" because that's literally impossible when you have anxiety lol). Just keep making content at your own pace and we'll support you no matter what~ p.s. sei bellissimo ❤

Also, you're fantastic, and I'm really greatful for everything you do! Keepin' us safe. I'VE NEVER CLICKED A VIDEO SO FAST BEFORE. Yo I feel you, I've been wearing 2 binders for a few months now, I'm a DDDcup so I need to get flat enough to, you know, live. I've actually already dislocated a rib YEARS ago before binding, and for some reason I've had absolutely no issues. But I only wear them for about 4 hours at a time and only a few days a week. So hopefully giving my body breaks is helping.

Glad you're doing better, you're looking great ^w^ Thanks for doing a video on this too, it explains why I've been having rib pain. When I was younger, before I knew what transgender was, and what binding was, I binded with two halter top thingy majigs for two years. And when I was 16 and was trying to conform to being a "woman", I did "waist training" in a corset for two years also. Now I'm transitioning, and in a binder so... my ribs must be all kinds of fudged lol

This can even happen with bra wearing. I haven't been able to find a binder that works for me yet but the dysphoria of wearing a bra is too much so I stopped and just began wearing silicone nipple covers... And then began having back spasms daily because there was nothing holding up my chest anymore. They're getting better but it's definitely a process while my muscles re-learn how to hold up the weight on their own.

It is very important that you stretch after you take your binder off. Put a hand on the wall and move you body every which way while keeping your hand on the wall. This stretches everything out and excersize ur muscles. Do both hands.

I have issues with my intercostal muscles and the cartlidge in my rib cage ( costochondritis ) from years of over binding and I still have to bind most days 😢 hopefully having surgery next year though so woohoo ! 😄
@samira27117 жыл бұрын
Yo, I feel the same way about posting and commenting stuff. I don't have a solid way of conquering those thoughts & feelings, but I'll just try to make my brain static + do it. That seems to work 1 out of every 5-10 times. I've only been binding since the beginning of 2017 + my intercostal muscles are already pretty weak... my left ribs are regularly shifting out of place + causing pain. It's not just because of binding though, my mental health has sucked for the past couple years so I didn't and don't really exercise. I also prioritize sleeping over a good sleeping position, so that doesn't help. I'm working on strengthening them + the rest of my body now though! So hopefully my ribs will start stay in place more

Very interesting video! I knew binding could have side effects but I didn't know it could get so serious!
