I do not have EDS and i am also healing super slow Everyones body is DIFFERENT and some dont understand that. Listening to your body is super important Just because someone can start working out after 3 weeks doesnt mean you can, you know. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this video. I had top surgery last August and got zero advice on post-op care from my surgeon. I followed your advice instead, and my healing and results are pretty fantastic. I know you're no longer active on here, but I just wanted to let you know that your content is still helping people. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Every time you said scarguard (only because I had never heard of it before so I had to google it), I thought of this guy: Stellan Skarsgård (this is not a comment about how you say things, only how my brain makes connections with things I know when I don't know what is being said)

Silicone lube like luxe is the exact same as scar away just doesn't dry crusty. Also if your scars are raised I suggest tape over gel as that pressure keeps the scar under the skin. Also if you take skin tone tape and some padding for the actual scar and cover your scars that way the sun can't get to them

Aaron, have you talked to Dr G after you found out that you have EDS, and asked him what he would have done differently if he had known about the EDS and your skin and tissues difficulties to heal as other people and also would he have done something about the extra excruciating pain you had afterwords?

I just want to say that you are not alone. I have EDS, ADHD and identify as non binary. I have contemplated top surgery but am too afraid because of the EDS. I scar too bad and heal too slow. It sucks to deal with the pain of EDS and the dysphoria but you make me feel like I'm not alone in the battle

Thank you for the wonderful tips, and the occasional "MEOW" in the background, it makes me smile! I'm an overweight FTM (210 lbs or 96KG) and need revisions for dog ears in the middle sternum and sides. I haven't exposed scars to sunlight at all, and have used derma-E, one of those moisturizing/healing scar gel treatments, along with silicone scar strips. They seem to work GREAT, but can't be used together, scar strips don't adhere to skin softening treatments. OMG Band-Aid BURN!!! NOT GOOD!!! I comment as i watch your videos lol! And for anti-acne soaps for binder/binding, T-Gel from Neutrogena 3% SALICYLIC ACID) will help, but I needed a higher strength (6% SALICYLIC ACID) can help with hair growth (ingrown hair and pimples) that is only available in the U.S. for Rx strength. DO NOT PUT THIS ON YOUR SCARS!!! ONLY use it for back acne or stomach/arms/legs. Keep your medicated shampoos off your newly made DI-NG scars! It's tough to use so many different soaps for different parts of your body, but it does get better I promise :) THANK YOU Aaron!

Four weeks post op today and let me just say- VERY HELPFUL! I have EDS but my scars are already looking good to me! I'm going to try out the charity pot though and massage before showering- much better idea. Also the note about the band aids is so so true. It's been hurting my skin so badly to keep putting them on. I will be switching and utilizing this, thank you so much Aaron!!

I have EDS and am having top surgery in October. Thank you so much for this video series. I opted for no nipple grafts because I know how I heal (badly & slowly) with EDS, and the prospect of the grafts falling off kinda squicks me out. Your videos helped me confirm that it was the right choice for me, personally. Nothing against your nipple grafts lol. I might get them tattooed on at some point, but I’m not sure.

I finally get my tubes out this friday! And I've stocked up some on silicone strips. Sucks i might not be able to go topless at the beach yet come December vacation...unless i think of something crafty i guess to prevent my scars from darkening. Thank you for your videos and all the tips. I watched a few others with their experience in recovery. Thank god mine has been pretty smooth so far.

♥ this is great! I will be able to get top surgery at best in 11 months, since where I live you have to be on hormones at least a year to undergo it. But it's almost entirely covered by insurance so that's good... anyway, thanks for all the tips, you are cute and so is your cat :)

PRO TIP FOR STICKINESS/ PULLING OF SKIN: APPEEL (mighta spelt it wrong) You can get it in wipes, spray, sachets (I prefer sachets and spray) You put it on top of the plaster/band-aid/tape and it will absorb into it and REMOVE THE STICKINESS!!!!! It was a life saver for me honestly (not any top surgery shit just a random surgery I had to have that came with EDS problems)

Hi Aaron you have helped me so much and made me feel a little less alone and safe in this world💜 But I've really been struggling with who I am and what I am for a very long time now but I've known FOR YEARS that I've wanted top surgery because of all the anxiety and trauma my chest brings me everyday but I can't get rid of the negative thoughts and anxieties in my head of what my friends and family will think of me and how no one will understand and I'm just struggling mentally because I want this SO BAD but I feel like I have no support team. Any good advice on dealing with stuff like this??

Hey Aaron! I love this series. Thank you so much for making it. Also your scars look so good! I'm booked 10 months out for top and I'm immunocompromised due to chronic illness, so it's very relevant to me. Quick question. When you say you didn't really put your arms above your head for a year, can you elaborate? I'm having a hard time imagining that, especially in terms of getting dressed. And also working out back/shoulders.

Oh no, I meant I didn’t really lift my arms for a few months (since it took me so long to heal and raising my arms hurt because my scars were initially really painful!) Massaging them and keeping them moisturized helped me with my range of motion a lot!

Hey, how soon after surgery should I start caring for my scars? As of now, my surgeon / doctor says that it’s too soon (1 week post-op). Edit (1 week later): Okay, so my surgeon told me to start around the 3 week - 4 week mark.

I'm afraid of getting more hypertrophic scars after surgery...
@AaronAnsuini
@AaronAnsuini 6 жыл бұрын
Hello Hypertrophic scarring is almost unavoidable on my body, so my suggestions are more “how to hopefully minimize the intensity of such results.” I found the most effective thing that I did, in terms of managing and minimizing the effects of hypertrophic scars, was the daily massaging (not only with bio oil, but once I started using the Charity pot cream, I’d massage them every day after my shower). This really softened them and helped with the pain (although: massaging them was and still is quite painful)
@lucaszahir185

@@AaronAnsuini I'm definitely getting some Charity pot cream. I don't have much love for my big scars but I'm learning to accept them. I can't wait for surgery, but am honestly afraid of my whole body aching after. Worth it tho
