Following 6 rounds of chemo for triple negative breast cancer, I lost all of my hair :( It took 5 months for my hair to fully grow back - here's a week by week video of how it grew!!

I’m about 8weeks post chemo...it’s growing back slowly but surely, I wear a wig though..it’s coming back mostly gray but since it’s way too short to go without a prosthesis I decided not to dye it just yet....I think I will start taking Biotin and hope it speeds up the process. Pamela Sylvester Hi Pam! My sister (38 yrs old) had the same diagnosis. She went through 6 rounds of chemo, surgery and radiation starts this week. Stay strong, positive, and EVERYTHING WILL BE JUST FINE. Trust in HIM. I pray for a speedy recovery for you. We were so surprised because chemo side effects really only bothered my sister for a couple of days after but during the three weeks between sessions, she was just as normal and felt fine. Food tasted a little different but she said it was such a small price to pay for taking care of business. ☺️❤️ You can do it!!!!

Finished my last Taxol chemo a week a go and can't wait for when my hair will come back after 6 months of first loosing it but already my baby fluff is looking slightly darker. Preferred beanie hats to a wig as I could just pop them on and change them to match outfits ..... ready for my surgery in just two weeks x

Docetaxel really messed up my skin, are you having the same. My skin is dry and scaly. Got exzema in my face and it turned about 5 shades darker

Atim Stella no my skin was ok ish.... it’s definitely something that can happen though, I put coconut oil all over me a couple of times a day though. I also have some E45 body lotion which has been great and I haven’t washed with anything in months except childs farm kids body wash.. and only a tiny bit of it. Stay out of the sun too....Good luck.. it’s a crap journey! Xxxx

Presently I’m being treated for my 3rd recurrence and on a daily chemo pill. I’ve lost my hair and it’s coming back curly but the top is very very thin... I’m afraid what grows back will start to fall out again like it did 6 months ago. I’ll be on a chemo pill for the rest of my life, so I guess I may buy a wig, ugh... that’s just not me. God Bless you for this video! I'm 4 months after the strongest Chemotherapy possible and feared that I'd NEVER get ANY hair back! It took It took TWELVE WEEKS AFTER CHEMOTHERAPY for me to look like you did, 2 weeks after chemo!!! Eye brows and lashes have FINALLY come back, but hair is impossibly slow growing and only 1/4 inch. Without your video. I was becoming very depressed and fatalistic that I'd be bald, forever. THANK You for providing us with HOPE.💕

Galago awww this is the loveliest comment. There is hope darlin - I am 20 months out of chemo and I have shoulder length hair. Good diet and lots of sunshine seem to be the things that help my hair. You will get there. Just have patience - always easier to say when It’s not you I know xxx

I'm in a similar boat as you m8. I got Busulfan and Cytoxan (a week each) and 12 weeks out, I'm just starting to see some growth on the top of my head. It's not even truly peach fuzzy yet. Stay strong and feel free to leave an update :)

Hello. I had a few more questions... Did you use the Nioxin every day or like once a week, after chemo? I JUST had my last chemo infusion 2 days ago and have the Nioxin ready to go! And my second question, can you share what vitamins you started taking to promote hair and nail growth?

Hi 🙋🏻‍♀️ I used nioxin every day. I think it helped a little but hard to tell. Might have been psychosomatic! I used a b vitamin complex, just a pharmacy own brand, designed specifically for skin and hair. I’d recommend you get your vitamin levels checked too - I found out later I had a severe b12 deficiency that might have been triggered by chemo. Worth getting it checked as it might affect your hair growth. Good luck xxxx

Victoria Gates I used Nioxin shampoo and treatment. Not sure if it worked or if it was a bit of a placebo effect!! I remember being so impatient for it to grow, but it will all of a sudden just sprout fast 😘 xx

I don't want to say too much, but I have finished chemo not that long ago and my hair is growing back.The only problem is I'm blonde, so even though it's nearly an inch long, it's not too visible! It's Klaudia hi 👋🏻 your eyelashes have a much longer growth cycle so probably took them longer to respond to the chemo. Mine didn’t fall out until chemo cycle 5. I was so sad!! I still wear false eyelashes now as they’ve not grown back nearly as long as they were before. Xx

clines eightyseven I took boots (a pharmacy here in the UK) own brand “hair and nails” vitamins. I think they contained vitamin B and E. It felt like it took ages to grow initially but after week 12 it started to grow so fast. Just be patient (easier said than done!!) good luck ❤️

Don’t drink for a start. Make sure you are emotionally available to your wife - cook and clean so she doesn’t have to. Make sure she takes her meds on time. Accompany her to her hospital appointments. You’ll get through this xx
