Fabi had so many opportunities and he failed all of them. The endgame is really the part of the game where computers shine so far above humans. We look at the evaluation and wonder how these guys could blunder so bad, but in the moment, after several hours of play, with queens on the board and both players with somewhat open kings, the game is just immeasurably complex. Even the game's best are basically swimming in chaos at that point. You can't blame them at all, and that's to say nothing of having the pressure of your entire career on your back.

7:40 is genuinely the worst question I’ve heard asked to anyone in a chess press conference (and there’s been a lot of bad ones in the last 4 or 5 years, for some reason especially at recent WCC related event). Look at how Ian reacts when she interrupts them to ask a question relating to Hikaru’s opinion of destiny rather than THE GAME THEY JUST PLAYED, and frequently interrupts them thereafter. No taste, not about the chess, just cheap and unprofessional.

They should've replaced her after day one. Literally zero tact in interviews. But then its FIDE, so of course they kept her.
@duaflip8 ай бұрын
@@santoshk1983 I mean truthfully, to hire her (contact, agreements, etc.) and then immediately get rid of her would be even more unprofessional, and to be fair I’m certain she tried her best. It’s more on the organizers and/or FIDE for not finding the right folks for the job. I remember during the 2018 World Championship we had Daniel King doing the press conferences and he was fantastic. Even the 2016 World Championship the press conferences were great, and you’d only expect silly questions or lack of perspective from the journalists. It’s frustrating because there must be more out there (like Daniel King, prime example) who are simply better suited for the job. Even Tania Sachdev, who from what I remember of the last 6 years has had some silly questions herself, would’ve likely been better. I think even Levy Rozman would’ve done a better job, and I’m not partial to him! I mean no disrespect to anyone but it’s just so frustrating to listen to and see the game essentially have a mockery made of it, especially at our most prestigious events
