Post Intensive Care Syndrome - a personal account.

In this video, I'm honoured to share the personal story of an ITU survivor and his amazing wife. Danny was hospitalised in the first wave of Covid-19. Following a stormy period with his life on the precipice of existence, he made it through.
Like many survivors, they had/have to grapple with many of the issues raised in the 'Post-Intensive Care Syndrome' video, some of which persist nearly three years later. We hope that by sharing their story with you, and any students or health professionals on here, it will raise awareness of PICS and the need for better rehab provision.
Just to note with apologies, that this was my first pod-cast style interview, and I forgot about the 29 minute recording limit on the camera filming Danny. So the last ~15 minutes don't feature his direct camera footage. We live, learn and hopefully improve!
Questions relevant to this topic are encouraged and perhaps we might be able to follow-up with Danny about them in the future!

What a miraculous recovery ! It's good that he can tell his recovery story, in a positive way. An amazing wife that was and is able to help with his recovery. Thanks Dr Simon.👍

What a amazing video ! This is the reality of what happened in this country. We need more video like this. In this case the end was very positive and blessed end but many people had negative end. Thank you so much for this important video. All the best

Thank you for this valuable interview giving us an insight into what so many people and their families suffered during Covid.
