I really appreciated that you added this because I was really anticipating this week’s khutba since everything that happened in Syria, so I do value your elaboration. Also I completely agree about the parent-child relationship, this is my field of work and we have so much work to do breaking these harmful cycles if we ever want to make meaningful change for ourselves, our families and communities Insha’Allah. The Syrian uprising was actually funded and supported by the CIA. It only seemed like the Syrian people gained independence. But in reality Syria still needs to become fully independent of foreign powers. Yes, Alhamdulilah, Syrians are finally free of the Assad regime. But Syrians still need to gain full independence and freedom
