Post-maiden Update

Great to finally see you have maiden flight and happy..... If your going to do any hard knife edge spins, blender, poptops please be aware the 3mm bolts holding the motor to the motor mount can snap off at the head of the screw. I ended up with 3 snapping off and eventually tapping the holes out to 4mm (the same size as the mount to the motorbox) and used red locktight and spring locking washers. I've had over 30 hard flights since and it's been fine I made a KZbin video about this issue plus the bearings lacking a tube between them causing excessive 'play' at the prop. 👍

Is this plane a 74 in wingspan? I am putting one together but a gasser and my cow like you said doesn't match up with my cone. Let me know where about your CG is?. Love your updates on the videos too

Mine is the 67' wingspan. I am sure the CG's would not line up. However, I am sure you will want it further back than where Pilot has it marked.

Than ks for the info on the c.f.. I have the pilot extra 78 in as.Pilot says c.g is the wing tube I have moved my battery back against the wing tube and have not added any weight. I have not maidened it yet waiting for warmer weather here in Ontario but do you think this will be Ok? Thanks for your help

Hey SurGuy, I can't say for sure about the CG on the Extra as I have not flown it. I can say that I will fly new planes slightly nose heavy until I get a good feel for it. You can always move the CG aft once you see how it flies, but if it is tail heavy on the first flight you could lose the plane all together. If you start with the Pilot established CG you are almost guaranteed a nose heavy starting point. Good luck on your maiden and here's hoping for early spring weather. :-) Happy flying.

What size of lipo does this require?

I am using a 6S 4500mAh battery and get about 6 min of flight with some reserve for go arounds.

@@ghostriderrc Perfect, thanks for the reply, can you tell me what is the best battery capacity to be used? Thinking of getting this plane as I have plenty of Spektrum 6S 5000mah Lipos not being used

Those batteries will fly this plane just fine. According to what style of flying you like will determine how happy you are with that choice. They would be perfect for IMAC style flying. They will fly a bit heavy for extreme 3D work. Considering you already have them, I would say buy it and fly it. 😎

@@ghostriderrc ok that's perfect, my last and final questions, that is the dual sky motor and ESC correct? I have plenty of 50cc gassers and just want a plane that is slightly smaller that is electric to take out each day, this is just a tad new me to

My setup uses a Dualsky GA2000.4 (not the R) and a Hobbywing Platinum 120A v4
