There was enough backing up to warrant TWO more stall calls! I mean I get the ref doesn’t want to give someone the match with a stall call unless it’s egregious but as many shots as green was taking with no re attacks, giving someone the match or not you gotta make that stall call. It’s why it exists for matches like this so someone doesn’t win a match how this guy did. Refs blew it.

@@Rene390 defending bad takedowns and stalling are two different things. Pay attention to the match without picking sides. How many attempts were even close? Good no stall call. Always hated rewarding someone for diving at legs and calling it a shot bc the moment is intense. Trash.

First, Ruiz is a great wrestler and only a Freshman. Second, Henry won and everyone at Buchanan knows this. Third, stop allowing kids who miss weight to wrestle in the weight they missed. Ruiz was heavy and well over the allowed weight but coaches continually turn the other way. THIS MUST STOP. Ruiz is good enough to win that match, no need for the refs and the missed weight to contribute. Doc B can no longer be trusted, the erosion of integrity has only grown and now this.

Good match but it's kind of a shame Ruiz did kind of run from him for a while at the end. Also at 7:27 Ruiz could have hit a spladle very easily the position was perfect, and you'd be surprised how many high-level people don't see that coming!

1st Period: 3 TD 2 NF 1 Escape after being reversed. 2nd period: 1 escape (Ruiz chose down and was let up immediately) 1 escape after being taken down. Should have been stalling multiple times, but Ruiz definitely had 8 points.

no it was 8- 5. Ruiz had a take down a 2 near fall and THREE ESCAPES. one before the first ended. one when he chose down and another after he was taken down. 8 points.

As a ref I call stalling based off of quality shots none of those shots made it to a leg and some of which were defended and counterattacked with slide by attempt. Stall calls are judgment calls not made by the crowd

it was 8-5. rewatch it. 3 TD, then 2 NF then 1 escape after the reversal. then he chose down so 1 more escape. then he was taken down, 1 more escape. thats 8 points. it was 8-5. the 5 points were the reversal and the TD to that point.
