I must admit I'm confused about the 2H recommendation, even as an orc it deals -171dps compared to DW (after nerf, with my current half-BIS+pre-BIS setup). The DW build was well ahead of 2H, so the nerf to one aspect of the rune didn't push hunters any closer to a 2H build just as it didn't push them toward ranged. DW rune is just too strong even without the 30% RS bonus, and more importantly the alternatives do nothing for ranged/2H to contest it. Funny test though, your suggestion made me want to sim the Fist weapons without DW rune (so the same as 2H setup) and the fists still do +4.6dps over the Axe :p At this point it's up to preference really, but yeah DW rune really does push 1H's ahead.

Yeah I based the 2h thing on what Sarthe said someone he knew had simed, he basicly said that 2hand was now viable and that the epic axe might even be bis. We will have to see how it really looks after the nerf

It's fine, the raid can be completed anyway. I wouldn't get mad at 2H hunters just as I don't mind ranged hunters (couple of my guildies prefer it even knowing it's a huge loss)@@Dreadpigmelee

With the normalized weapon damage and the changes to DW-Rune, the epic sword from the raid may be a great offhand for personal damage. Going Claw+Axe for applying both debuffs may be huge for the entire raid though. Curios to see the logs this week and how far apart 2H and DW really are. I'm raiding Thursday again and need to decide, what weapons I need to roll on xD

i got the toxic revenge 2 dagger on my hunter last night, wearing with cogmaster claw and theyre hitting the same on raptor strike. So i have no clue how the normalization works lol, i thought daggers scaled to 1.7.. Also, the ultrasonic vibroblade deserves a huge shoutout cuz its really good for hunters to apply this debuff for their raid, it also helps pet damage which might be worth something as BM

Yeah daggers are 1,7 how strange but might just be because it is in main hand and the claw is offhand

Hello Sven, I wonder if the machinst gloves are BIS? And you say 2h axe is BIS according to sims? would that push the epic belt bis too?

Yeah im just not sure how important the 3+ skill is. If u dont go with fists then machinist 100%. According too the youtuber Sarthes source 2h might become bis according to his sims but I dunno, i might have been abit early in beliving it, will have to be tested in game after the nerf. If it is good then yeah go with the belt

It’s easy to get your craft epic with less 5g, but I doubt if you still can do it now. You just need to go to AH and find out how much a grim costs, and how much the leather filament plates cost, you will see the trick to use AH and trade. I got my done within the first lockout after I got the recipe with like 2-3g. For the spec, do you really want to trade 20% rs crit for 30% pet dmg??? And for 2h, as I am farming in badland now. I kind of notice 2h misses a lot? I have +2hit from gear. 2h axe misses more than dw sword

Not sure I agree with getting the full 3 piece set. Think you can replace the feet with the mail blackforges and do way more damage. Last boss when he phases you can fd and drink between the phases. And with mana pots I never have to put viper on before the phases ends.

Well on shorter fights i can ofc see it but i still rather just go with set instead of paying for extra potions and blackforge but it all depends on how min max u wanna be

They are good yes, dont know the difference in dmg between axes and the fist weapons but should be close and alot easier to get

From looking at logs, I am not seeing a substantial benefit to weapon skill at this time with bosses only being +2 above us. RNG has a bigger impact and I would just go with what you get

I watched your clip about hunter nerf, I went yesterday morning with pug to gnome and I got machinist gloves, thermaplugg axe and chest set :) so lucky Also this time as a BM melee I had the best logs Btw Its Iwona - Lone wolf EU @Dreadpigmelee

Damn lucky! :D fist dropped for us but the other hunter won it haha im abit torn when it comes to respeccing survival has some fun utility so i might stay for a while longer
