POST OFFICE SCANDAL: Ex-boss gives many reasons why he hasn't said sorry to subpostmasters

He shouldn't say sorry, because he isn't sorry. I think he sees this as just a blip along his path to a very comfortable retirement afyter overseeing possibly the biggest legal scandal in UK history, and being richly rewarded for his monumental laziness and incompetence.

He is one of the weirdest, creapiest and most arrogant people I have seen so far on this shameful parade of people saying they could not remember, it was not my job, a big boy did it and ran away. Nothing will actually happen to any of the leaders and they will never go to court let alone be prosecuted. The system will protect them.

He's a sorry example of a human being. Sorry being one word he wont admit he is because he isn't. He isn't sorry at all, he never was he never will be. Its the only true thing he has said. the rest is just lies, misdirection and plain arrogance.

The '1.5 day a week' Boss. Later reduced to 2 days a MONTH. How much did he get paid for all this work? Loved his 'hippie' hairstyle. Needed plenty of money for his hairdresser. His arrogance was mind-boggling.

Not apologizing means you aren’t sorry. Whether or not it’s potentially “annoying” to people…is utterly irrelevant. So in essence he is not sorry.

Why not just say that you are sorry for the harm done to sub postmasters, rather than give a long winded answer like he did here … I imagine that if you asked this guy if he wanted a cup of tea, the answer would be something along the lines of “So, the subject of a cup of tea is quite interesting, because today I was toying with the idea of having a cup of tea, standing up and saying ‘yes, I would like a cup of tea’ as many people have done. And there ensued a discussion with people, you know, should I do this, I mean, actually have a cup of tea ..” and so on and so on
