Post Repair Shakedown Sail with Surprise Air Show

With the repairs to Lady Emma and the initial float test complete it's time for a shakedown sail. The conditions turned out to be less than ideal, with gusty, shifting wind and choppy seas but we were still keen. Everyone had a few nerves and it almost felt like our first sail all over again. All in all, it went well and we were treated to an impromptu air show, which was pretty cool.
Get out there and travel Australia, it's amazing.

Sailing and aviation - perfect video 👍 As regards your mainsail, perhaps it is too big for your mast, or you have too big a shackle / bowline to pull it up? You could always fit a Cunningham to sheet the luff down to the boom and that would solve the issue. Lovely vid and great to see you out. Our season starts next week and we are really looking forward to it

Thanks Lady's, some good suggestions on the mailsail. I'll take a closer look. I believe it's the original sail and has only recently become an issue so its a tricky one. With all the repair work we haven't sailed as much as I would've liked this season but there's still time. Looking forward to seeing where you're sailing this season. Enjoy it!

G'day Barry. You could try raise the boom a little more when raising the mainsail. Sometimes the leach gets tight before the luff of the sail if the boom is too low. Lachy
