Jacques Lemaire actually won 1 cup with the Devils in '95, then he coached a few more seasons with the them until '98, he didn't coach again until '00 where he signed with the Wild and coached them until '09, then he coached the Devils for 2 more season before retiring as a head coach.

this is exactly what we are working on our team rn THANK YOU for this i was so frickin confused

Jacques Lemaire actually only won one Cup with the Devils. Larry Robinson was the coach in 2000 and the late, great Pat Burns in 2003. But yeah, Jacques and Larry brought the trap to New Jersey after learning how to use it effectively when they played for the Habs in the 70's. *edit* whoops, missed the earlier comment where someone pointed that out already. Sorry.

Dont forget the Torts style, sacrifice the body blocking shots non stop and when you do finally get the puck dump and chase.

2003, the best year in the wild's history. Was an awesome run, still weird thinking lemaire was the coach for almost 10 year actually

Btw all the trap is or the lw lock is taking the strong side Winger after the red line and move him in line with the defensive spot so 1 Dman could apply pressure along the boards and the C or the other Dman takes his space
@hoctorthepipedoctor84455 жыл бұрын
Vegas kind of modified the Left Wing Lock their first year. Instead of just being the left wing though it was more of an F1 F2 approach to it with the F1 slotting to the non puck side to let the defense shift to the puck side causing the carrier to usually cough it up and the F2 curling back to transition it back to offense faster than usual.
@AjSours7 жыл бұрын
1-3-1 works until you wait too long haha and Ottawa's defense is good but inconsistent. One night they look like a cup contender, the other they look like a expansion team that gives away lots of pucks

On the 1-3-1, when the opposite team is advancing the puck into the neutral zone on the side where the defenseman has moved up to be a part of the "3".... does the far wing of the "3" immediately head back onto defense?

Lemaire only won one cup with the devils (95) ! ....then Larry Robinson did in 2000, then pat burns in 2003...the vest devils team by far was 2000, they could play the trap but had some real offensive power

I hate the 1 3 1 because I believe that if you don't apply pressure then the detfensive players won't make a mistake and if they are ahead well they'll just pass the puck around like Philly should've done to Tampa then they wouldn't of blown the whisle

Guy Boucher should be embarrassed to run the trap. I loved when the flyers exposed him while he was on the lightning of it. It ruins the game.
@justind35837 жыл бұрын
Jack Ferry no he shouldn't, it's almost the only way a weak or average team can go deep in the playoffs.

@justind35837 жыл бұрын
Jack Ferry that's what we say but look at the past Stanley cup winners : Chicago, Boston, LA, Chicago, LA, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh. Not as much parity as we may think.

Dead puck days lol.... this was the most incorrect era for so called fans... today hockey is up down game but more players in the 90s scored goals/points than now.... goalie equipment was issue in mid 90s. Also physicality ia non existent cause fans like you will be offended like the scheifele hit.
