Hello Sir First of all, I would like to congratulate you upon such a valuable content that you are producing. my claim sir is that I do not think so the writer of "Decolonizing the mind " is Chen Vezu , but rather he called Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o. Thank you
@masoodraja6 ай бұрын
Thank you. Ngugi wrote Decolonizing the Mind. Chinweizu wrote Decolonizing the African Mind: www.amazon.com/dp/9782651028/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_3SYWK21Y72Z26J7R2EM3?linkCode=ml2&tag=masoodraja-20

Cuold have been great if you also focus on islamic colonialism over nations deprived of statehood or were oppressed by safavid and ottoman islamic ethno-centric khalifate colonial powers of orient. How to deal with their influences?
@masoodraja2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Sadly, my training is only in 19th and 20th century colonialism, which is my field of study, but I think people better trained in what you are talking about are handling these issues and these histories.

Hello Professor… Can I please ask you something I really am struggling to understand: what does “national allegory” mean in Jameson’ terms? Like in simple terms what does it mean? Thanks a again for all the amazing videos … they have been such a great help in my studies …
@masoodraja3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The best way to understand it would be to read his essay and then read Aijaz Ahmad’s response to it. I am afraid if I answer it here, it would be totally out of context of the entire debate. But if you read the essay carefully, then his usage is pretty self evident. What he is suggesting there is that “all third world literature is” in one way or the other a “national allegory.” But you will understand it only after you read both the essays. Simply stated it means that third world literature tells the stories of nations and national struggles.
@mrs.alrashdanalrashdan87263 жыл бұрын
@@masoodraja oh yes I did Ajaz attacks Jameson’s claims and refuses them completely, but what I needed help is the terms national allegory does it mean that all third world literatures are to be read in contrast with western ones? Or is it that they all feature contrasting what is in traditional culture of the east to what is in the west … I got confused and hoped you can help clarify that.

Excellent as usual, Buddy. Since you combine elements of workerist/autonomist Marxism with poststructuralism, would you call yourself a post-Marxist (Laclau, Mouffe, et al.)?
@masoodraja3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I have not thought of myself in those terms but it does make sense. My heart, however, is with the workerist Marxists:)
