You can do sabbatical abroad after joking as faculty. Most universities allow one year sabbatical after 6 years of service. You can apply for humboldt, JSPS or nrc or other fellowships during this time. As these are temporary assignments if you get them, you can generally get sabbatical leave from the institution and visa etc easily. Also probably the subject. If you are interested in Niche areas like High energy theoretical physics etc, not many Industry jobs offer you research in that area.

True. I did see some jobs take up programming jobs in the theoretical physics areas but they were not pleased later in life with that choice

Hello Sir. Thanks for your video. Is it a bogus opinion that ,those who complete PhD can go only to acadamic positions ? What is the indian scenario for getting industry oriented positions after PhD? Most companies requires 2 to 3 years of experience (as seen from few notifications from linkedin). If every industry oriented job requires 2 to 3 years of experience ,how one can get an opportunity to work in companies as a fresher after completion of PhD?

Well, ideally the PhD experience should count as 2-3 years of experience. The field plays a big role here. In areas like biosciences a PhD is given importance as the skills are very useful to industry. One can apply for the 2-3 year experience jobs and showcase the PhD experience as that done as a research scholar or research assistant at the university.
