Just had this procedure done between s1,l4 and l5 quite painful so far but not much difference in pain level to bad day with degenerative disc disease fascinating I am hopeful that this will improve my quality of life so cool to understand the operation now all I can say is wow.

How long did take to heal? How are doing now ?they want remove my disc and do bone fusion on two Vertebra Also wanna do one on my upper neck The other 2 or my lower disk Which Gone already Hope your better

I was a pedestrian run over by a car in 2001, which resulted in spondylolisthesis. I lost a lot of nervous innervation on the left, resulting in foot drop. I was seeing my PCP, who just didn't get it & called me a drug abuser. Finally, after almost a year, a neurosurgical resident was in the office & discovered I had no reflexes on the left, which meant I finally got a referral to a neurosurgeon who immediately performed a PLIF. The surgery lasted about 9 hours & it was mighty painful. Back then, healthcare providers gave adequate post-op pain meds, which certainly were necessary. I took narcotics for several months due to the pain, but as I healed, I no longer needed them. I wore a back brace for ~6 months. Also, in my case, the little basket was filled with BMP, which stimulates bone growth. I'm fine now, but back pain never really goes away. To all of you that may need a PLIF, I wish you well.

@@yantoibrahim7278 sy takut op bang. Krn sy tulang blkg geser menyebabkan saraf terjepit. Dktr sarankan utk op pasang pen dan ganti bantalan. Msh takut 😢 di pasca operasi takut ga kuat.

i also had this surgery done but i believe firmly it is done wrong with 1 thing in mind. The titanium rods should be titanium springs coated with something for flexibility instead of rods.

I had a spinal fusion two weeks ago. SO far the worse party is wearing the back brace. I see dr in a few days hopefully I can stop wearing it. SO UNCOMFORTABLE
