The Eagles improved in a lot of ways this week, but our redzone offense is still struggling, and there’s no excuse for it at this point. Defenses have completely figured out our Gainwell-heavy redzone rush attack. The problem here isn’t execution, or even playcalling. Its personnel packages. You cannot take your most dangerous running back off the field in scoring territory and expect a change of pace back to give you the same product, or command the same amount of respect. Gainwell is a solid player, don’t get me wrong. But they’re using him wrong. He’s not a power back, and continuing to give him 80% of snaps in the redzone despite the massive difference in production between the redzone offense with Swift vs Gainwell is borderline insanity at this point. It’s not working. STOP DOING IT.
