Thank you ladies for the discussion. I do believe we as consumers need to be self aware and regulatory especially on what we listen to or watch on social media. That was a good insight Bev especially on seasons and outgrowing social handles, conversations,apps and platforms. I was truly blessed by this perspective of social media.❤

First of all Uganda has a breast cancer age-standardized incidence and mortality rate of 21.3 per 100,000 population and 10.3 per 100,000 population, respectively. Majority of women in Uganda, being a low-income country, are diagnosed at stage III or stage IV, when breast cancer is more difficult to treat, and the outcome of survival is significantly lower. Additionally, survival rates are closer to 50%: 1 in 2 women with breast cancer will die of their disease, as they are usually diagnosed with breast cancer when it is advanced, and chances of a cure low. The reason i would go for checkup and screening, incase of early detection it would mean going for treatment before the cancer advances to fatal stages which increases the healing chances and survival ❤ Thanks for the show ladies and keep up the good work.

This is so true, my aunty was diagnosed with breast and cervical cancer and it was stage IV already. She passed on a few days later. Earlier on she thought it was something else and the doctors couldn't tell what was wrong with her. It was only when she went to Mulago that she got to know it was cancer, both her breasts were sick and her cervix, her cough was terrible and there was nothing the doctors could do. She died in so much pain

Loving the conversations ❤️🤗. Everything good, once abused, becomes bad. Even water can end your life if you over drink it. That’s how I feel about social media. We have too many keyboard warriors and the jealousy is very loud and real. On the hand, we also have the people that love you genuinely, root for you and support you. I think at the end of it, it’s what you choose to focus on. Also, whenever someone puts a bad comment on my content, I put laughing emojis “😂😂😂” and the person gets frustrated and ends up deleting their comment because they realize that you’re not going to engage with their negativity.

Thank you for the wonderful conversation but I feel like social media is moving away from just posts of people having a good time to being more educational. The educational bit brings out the bad days as one shares examples or talks about difficulties experienced during the lesson. We are all learning to use social media to our advantage but it's still a long journey. Maybe one day, we shall all be there and by that time, we would have blossomed with this wonderful tool. Thank you once again!

I like to compare posting to social media to cooking.. & hosting. When you have guests, you most likely don’t want them to see the process, you want them to find the setup and everything looking great & ready to serve with you as the hostess looking well put together like there was no hustle. It doesn’t mean you didn’t have to do dishes..or prepare for a whole week. 😂

Early detection for breast cancer enhances early initiation of treatment which in turn leads to good treatment outcomes like curing. On the other hand, late detection could catch the cancer in its advanced stages which may not respond to treatment or is prone to relapsing

I have always believed that it couldn't happen to me or anyone around me. However, I would love to undergo early detection for breast cancer to set an example for my friends. It’s a reminder that it could happen to any of us, and the sooner we know our status, the better and that early detection allows for timely treatment or, even better, professional advice on prevention.

It breaks my heart that Ugandans have to travel to India for check ups. Just check up. Now imagine those people who cannot even affort 20k to feed. I hope one day our country will get to that place where the doctors office calls people to come in for check up like other countries.
@proudmganda1159Ай бұрын
💯 it sad! We need to pray for our country. Here in the UK one just receives a reminder from NHS for his/ her check ups!!
@Flourish_todayАй бұрын
@proudmganda1159 Same here in Canada, they send me a letter every 3 years to go for my papsmear. It used to be yearly, but now it's every 3 years. Yearly checks are a must. Blood work and the whole 9 yards. I think Uganda will change but give it about 4-5 generations from now because there is a lot to undo. The mindsets surrounding loving the indigenous people plus the country it's self is going to take work. It starts from something as simple as not throwing a paper on the floor in public spaces.

By the time a person gets signs/ symptoms of breast cancer, the cancer has advanced or it is at a stage where much or nothing can be done😢. There is a myth that where there is no pain there is no disease! Feels wiered for us to accept treatment without pain! Mynths made from hell!!!Cancer can advance to stage 4 without pain, and by the time pain comes, you are being given months to live!!!!😢 Early detection enables targeted early intervention, easy management and less costly.

breast cancer i would say prevention is better than cure and i worry i might be among the victims yet no means to clarify 😢😢

Breast cancer is the leading cancer in women gobally. Its such a killer that statisctics show that there is 99 % chance of survival in stage 1, 85% survival in stage 2, 55% survival in stage 3, and only 27% survival in stage 4. This evidence proves that screening and early detection increases the chances of survival. Even with this knowledge i have never screened for breast 🎀 . How lazy we are😢. Please bump love give me this offer for a free breast checkup.
