"Who is she?" Her name is Haley Reinhart and she is the most versatile singer out there today. Anything she does live is better than her recorded versions. She's phenomenal.

I honestly don't understand why Haley Reinhart doesn't have more commercial success. She's one of the greatest vocalists of our era. I love her voice! I love her style! I love her control! I love her passion! She's just awesome! Can't say enough positive things about her.

So this rendition of the song really sold me when Haley went into the lyrics "I don't care if it hurts/I want to have control/I want a perfect body/I want a perfect soul." Those have always been the lyrics that I've loved most in the song, and I got the feeling when she sang them that she was singing as an insecure girl who goes through all sorts of procedures, even painful ones, to fit the standard of beauty that's been set up for women in society, and feeling like a creep in her own skin so she has to wear a facade to hide herself. Much like the original song, it's ironic because we know in both cases the singer is underestimating his or her own self worth and comparing themselves to others around them.

This video was recorded in one take, she's just amazing. She was on American Idol and had some amazing performances, too bad to the shock of America she came in third, two teenage country singers beat her which was ridiculous. This reaction was great, thanks!
@theblackdog23997 жыл бұрын
She was robbed. In 8 out of the last 9 seasons of American Idol, only young white males won the show, except for in season 12 when a female finally won, but that season had been rigged by the show's producers so only a female could win. Therefore, it was impossible for Haley to win no matter what. Nonetheless, in season 10 she was clearly the best contestant by a mile. In fact, she is one of the best American Idol contestants of all time if not the all time best.

Hi Petra, I really enjoyed your reaction - thank you. Plus i just love this rendition. I'm always glad to see others who are affected by this song like me and who obviously appreciate the arrangement as well as the performance. Thank you for the needed distraction during these troubling times. Godspeed and God bless!

Hi Petra, always love your reactions. Haley Reinhardt is a American Singer/Songwriter that came third in season 10 of American Idol in 2011. This video of Creep was recorded in 2014. I've seen it a few times, as I think that it's one of the best covers of this song that I've heard. You need to check out some of her performances from her time in American Idol. They were incredible. Her cover of 'Blue' by Leanne Rhimes, and I Who Have Nothing by Shirley Bassey. I thought that she was way better than the two singers placed above her. Great stuff Petra 👍😚💖💖💖

Leonard Simmers Her House of the rising sun is probably the most impressive performance of her earlier American Idol work
@leonardsimmers91587 жыл бұрын
Benjamin Ciervo Yesss I forgot to add that one to the two that I mentioned. I agree! That's probably the best cover of House of the Rising Sun I've ever heard. I just can't understand why the two country teenagers were chosen in front of Haley. Mind you. Apart from Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, I've never agreed with their pick for the winners since lol.
@gynack6 жыл бұрын
++Benjamin Ciervo The duet "Moanin" by herself and Casey Abrams was an insanely brilliant performance on Idol with herself taking the honours, probably my overall favourite. "What Is and What Should Never Be", the Led Zepp number, was another utterly brilliant performance. So many of her performances were outstanding, including her final singout of "Benny and the Jets".

Hi Petra! I forgot to add Haley's cover of "House Of The Rising Sun" on American Idol as well. And apart from this version of Creep. She with Postmodern Jukebox put their Vintage take on Britney Spears classic Oops I Did it again. Just brilliant! Also 7 Nation Army. You should also check out Sarah Geronimo's version of Creep as well. It's also a phenomenal performance. Lots of love for your reactions 😚😚😚😚
@gynack6 жыл бұрын
++Leonard Simmers I never took to Geronimo's version. It's acting rather than singing, head hanging down and an expressionless voice. Thom Yorke with Radiohead sang it like this, and this kind of delivery has been followed by most others I've heard covering it, including Crum and Geronimo. In fact I never liked the song at all until I heard Haley singing it. I realise that the others are trying to express depression and hopelessness, but the others sing it devoid of any expression to achieve that effect. It doesn't work for me but just seems like poor singing. Haley sings it very emotionally and powerfully as if she's upset, as if life isn't fair to her, and she's railing about it. To achieve this she actually SINGS superbly. None of the others do.

@garyonbroadway19194 жыл бұрын
If she HAD won, I think she'd have burned her vocals to ash at that age. A woman's larynx doesn't truly solidify until around 24-25 years old. It SAVED her, IMO, in retrospect. She has said in interviews she KNOWS when to stop, FULL stop, and allow her chords to heal. Shell still have those pipes when she's 60. Has anyone heard Sheryl Crow lately? A train wreck.

She is a vocal technician, she knows all the vocal tricks, they are running reverb on this tract, and if it is live, they are also using gated distortion, or some of the effects may have been added in post, don't think it is all natural, she is a very very good singer, but she has help on this one....and I love everything about this one.
