This was Scott's (the pianist, creator of PMJ) apartment, where the first couple years of videos were recorded.

So few people bother to check out this one, so huge respect for that. Morgan does not get anywhere near the level of attention she deserves given her ability. This is a fantastic cover. Another one I love is her rendition of 'Take Me To Church' also with PMJ.

FYI, Zack, Morgan graduated from the renowned Julliard school with a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance, primarily opera. She transitioned to Broadway, including originating the Teena Marie character in "Motown - The Musical" among other roles. From Broadway, she began her solo career, specializing more into jazz, R&B, and soul. She recently performed with our local symphony along with Hugh Panaro to the theme "Music of the Night," featuring major songs from blockbuster Broadway productions. A duet with Hugh to "Phantom of the Opera," a defiant Elphaba's "Defying Gravity," and an absolutely gut-wrenching "On My Own" from Les Mis (which resulted in a three-minute standing ovation!!) were just some highlights of the concert, which was well worth the price of admission. She has got to be one of the most incredible, versatile, unknown singers in the current music world - and she still takes voice lessons every week when she's home! morganjamesonline is her KZbin channel, if you care to go down that rabbit hole.

Morgan is ridiculously talented. And if you enjoyed that "your cats heard it" bit, then you definitely want to check out this live version of Sledgehammer (her husband is on guitar). The "cats" moment comes in just after the 4:40 mark: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIWYept5ap6gnbc

Scott’s apartment, at least you can see the drummer, he was usually hidden behind the singer in those early cramped vids. Could you imagine being Scott’s neighbors back then🤦♂️

Precisa de ouvir PMJB com Morgan James a cantar "dream on".

Maroon 5 is at best an acquired taste, which I have yet to acquire. Morgan on the other hand, is an immediate add to the playlist, and works fantastically well with PMJ. Scott Bradlee has a real ability to bring out the best in female talent.

WOW! Play Sledgehammer! Thanks for the recommendation! I like this version better! 💜💜💜

Have you seen the videos with Puddles Pity Party. A guy is dressed as a clown, Puddles, and has an amazing voice.

They did a bunch of songs in this room. Their first songs were in a basement apartment, but they got kicked out, LOL. This is their second location and Scott Bradlee got the grand piano after they had gained a little traction. Other songs in this space worth checking out are Royals (ft Puddles Pity Party), We Can't Stop (ft. Robyn Adele Anderson), Talk Dirty to Me (ft Robyn singing in Yiddish), Burn (ft actual fire) - and more!

This is back in the earlier days of PMJ - not too long after the channel took off & changed from "ScottBradleeLovesYa" to "Postmodern Jukebox". It's in Scott's very small NYC apartment & was Morgan's debut with PMJ.

Apparently it's considered a great honor to have your song parodied by Weird Al. I wonder if artists get as excited if PMJ covers their songs. Personally I'd get defensive that fans will like the PMJ version better than the original. :)

This would have been an R & B #1 if released in say 1973.
