She's a major talent, and a really cool person. Should be world-famous. But she decided to make good music rather than "play the game" with record companies. She chose art over mega-stardom. 2:16 That's called frisson - a sudden, passing sensation of excitement; a shudder of emotion; thrill. It happens a lot when you listen to Morgan James. LOVE HER!!! I LOVE your reaction!!! This is how I feel listening to Morgan James all the time. The first time I heard this cover I just couldn't get Steven Tyler's voice out of my head. It wasn't until I listened for the third time that I could truly appreciate Morgan's cover. Now I'm like, "Steve who??? Oh, isn't he that guy that covers Dream On?" JK of course, no disrespect to Steven at all. Morgan studied opera at Julliard and has played on Broadway. She has her own band and is married to the guitar player, Doug Wamble. I am so glad that you have found the stunning Morgan James. I have been a fan of hers for a couple of years, and can't get enough. Interestingly enough, about six months ago, my brother called me to ask if I had heard of her. I said, "Welcome to the party Pal." Since then, he has seen her in concert and photographed her in performance. She liked the photographs so much that she posted them on her web site. She has made many videos with PMJ, but she has many more that were done elsewhere. KZbin is filled with them. Now, let's discuss PMJ, how I discovered her in the first place. The guy on piano is Scott Bradlee, the creator, and arranger for the incredible collective of musicians in and around NYC. This collective also features vocalists from the ninth dimension. I suggest that you see their "All About That Base" video, featuring Morgan on the right, Haley Reinhart in the center, and Ariana Savalas (yes, Telly Savalas's youngest daughter) on the left. This is the only version of the song that I can stand to listen to. So enjoy, and while you are at it, also check out Collective Cadenza, a collective similar to PMJ, but with a little more humor involved. They might have disbanded by now, but I just don't know. Smiles !!!!!

Maunalee - first time seeing one of your reaction videos and I appreciate that you didn't interrupt the piece to put your two bits in. First time I heard this I got the goosebumps too. Morgan James is just one of the great artists - instrumentalists and vocalists - that Scott Bradlee has been able to get together to do fantastic covers with pure style and excellence. I'm talking even weird stuff like a cover of Pinky and the Brain. They have a way to spoil you for the original. May I suggest another piece for a reaction? Johnny Cash doing a cover of Nine Inch Nails "Hurt". It's blow my mind material.

So Morgan was your introduction to Postmodern Jukebox? Well... that'll get ya for sure, she and Haley (and several others) will both reach deep into your soul and scramble everything inside till you're like dough in the hands of a master baker. Postmodern Jukebox is a breath of.. fresh? old? air... good air anyway. They also introduced many an amazing musician and singer to us, showing us all what modern hits could've sounded like 40, 50, 60 or 100 years ago and it always is rock solid. And it seems to work for all generations too, from young to old.. anyone with a musical bone in them seems to like what they do. My own mother for instance who is at the lovely age of 82 is an absolute fan of Morgan and Haley and tells me quite often that those two young ladies have some of the best voices she ever heard in her life, and at her age.. she heard a few so to speak. Even my dad (age 81) who isnt much into music other than Mario Lanza and Queen (yes weirdass combination, i know), enjoys both these ladies and i catch him playing their music quite often. Anyway, loving the content and i'll be exploring more of your channel, ty for the react Maunalee :)

Thank you for having me, and welcome to the world of PMJ!!! It means SO MUCH to relive seeing these artists for the first time through someone else's eyes, I was almost in tears just now! PMJ is a collective of rotating artists and singers, but IMHO Haley and Morgan stand head and shoulders above the rest and all of their songs deserve a reaction. It has been said that their version of "CREEP" feat. Haley Reinhart is what put PMJ on the map. (over 80m views, so it's hard to argue that point.) Morgan's version of Maroon 5's "MAPS" is absolutely better than the original! (Sorry Adam.) Her version of Hozier's "TAKE ME TO CHURCH" will definitely take you there! Meghan Trainor's "ALL ABOUT THAT BASS" and Demi Lovato's "I REALLY DON'T CARE" are really fun arrangements that will definitely put a smile on your face throughout. During one of those two songs, Morgan is actually upstaged! (If you can believe that. THANK YOU!!! from a new subscriber, Please react to these songs AND MANY MORE from PMJ(fill that playlist) I absolutely enjoyed your reaction! Postmodern Jukebox is a small instrument group whose instrumentalists vary, except one: Scott Bradley on the piano. He also creates the arrangements. PMJ backs a variety of women singers who cover a variety of songs from Classic Rock. Two standouts are Haley Reinhart and Morgan James. James is the best blue eyed soul singer since Amy Winehouse died in 2011. She is also classically trained, which explains how a woman as petite as her can belt it out as she does.
@bertjones30104 жыл бұрын
And, you got paid for having that experience. My condolences on falling down the PMJ rabbit hole. As you can see from the number of other suggestions here in the comments there are hundreds of videos posted by Scott Bradlee's ensemble. Of course those featuring the sublime Haley Reinhart are leading the way, but my favorite of a lessor know PMJ performer is Niia. Perhaps this has been mentioned already, she has performed on Broadway, and you can also view more of her on her KZbin channel. There is even a duet with her and Haley doing a cover of the Beatles 'Prudence' to enjoy.
