JESUS KNOCKS ON YOUR HEART AND LONGS FOR YOU TO ANSWER! HE DOESN'T WANT TO SEE ANYONE PERISH INTO HELL. GOD LOVES YOU SO HE GIVES YOU FREE WILL AND A CHOICE TO ACCEPT HIM OR REJECT HIM. TO LOVE HIM OR TO LOVE SIN/THIS WORLD. CALL UPON JESUS & ASK HIM TO FORGIVE YOUR SINS! SURRENDER YOUR WILL & YOUR LIFE TO HIM AND HE WILL GIVE YOU ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN! PICTURE YOUR BEST DAY ON EARTH TIMES A BILLION FOR ETERNITY, THAT'S HEAVEN! NOW PICTURE YOUR WORST DAY ON EARTH TIMES A BILLION FOR ETERNITY, THAT'S HELL! HE WILL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT SO IF YOU REJECT HIM YOU WILL BE SEPARATED FROM HIM & HIS BLESSINGS (LOVE, PEACE, JOY, HOPE, REST, ETC). IN HELL YOU WILL BE ALONE WITHOUT GOD OR PEOPLE, YOU WILL BE HOPELESS, YOU WILL BE IN DESPAIR & AGONY FOREVER! GOD'S STANDARD FOR HEAVEN IS PERFECTION AND ONLY JESUS (THE SON OF GOD/GOD IN THE FLESH) LIVED THAT PERFECT LIFE! HE LAID DOWN HIS LIFE & TOOK THE WRATH OF THE FATHER ON THE CROSS FOR YOUR SINS! GOD IS JUST SO HE MUST PUNISH SIN & HE IS HOLY SO NO SIN CAN ENTER HIS KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. IF YOU ARE IN CHRIST ON JUDGEMENT DAY GOD WILL SEE YOU AS HIS PERFECT SON (SINLESS SINCE YOUR SINS ARE COVERED BY JESUS' OFFERING). YOU CAN ALSO CHOOSE TO REJECT JESUS' GIFT/SACRIFICE & PAY FOR YOUR OWN SIN WITH DEATH (HELL) BUT THAT SEEMS PRETTY FOOLISH! GOD SEES & HEARS EVERYTHING YOU HAVE SAID & DONE. YOU WONT WIN AN ARGUMENT ON JUDGEMENT DAY & YOU CANT DEFEND ANY OF YOUR SINS TO HIM. WE'RE ALL GUILTY WITHOUT ACCEPTING JESUS' SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS! MUHAMMAD DIDN'T DIE FOR YOUR SINS, BUDDHA DIDN'T DIE FOR YOUR SINS, NO PASTOR/PRIEST/MARY OR SAINT DIED FOR YOUR SINS, NO IDOLS OR FALSE GODS DIED FOR YOUR SINS, NO ACTOR OR CELEBRITY DIED FOR YOUR SINS, NO ATHLETE OR POLITICIAN DIED FOR YOUR SINS! JESUS CHRIST ALONE DIED FOR YOUR SINS & WAS RESURRECTED FROM THE GRAVE! HE IS ALIVE & COMING BACK VERY SOON (THESE ARE END TIMES) WITH JUDGEMENT! PREPARE YOURSELVES, TURN FROM SIN & RUN TO JESUS! IT'S NOT ABOUT RELIGION, TITHING, CHURCH... IT STARTS WITH ASKING HIM TO FORGIVE YOUR SINS & INVITING HIM INTO YOUR HEART/LIFE, SURRENDER ALL TO HIM! IT'S ABOUT A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR CREATOR. HE KNOWS YOUR PAIN & TROUBLES, TALK TO HIM LIKE A BEST FRIEND! ASK HIM TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO YOU & HELP YOU TO BELIEVE IF YOU DOUBT! DON'T WAIT TO CRY OUT! NO ONE IS PROMISED TOMORROW! HE LONGS FOR YOU TO INVITE HIM IN, HE LOVES YOU MORE THAN ANY PERSON EVER COULD, HE CREATED YOU! Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."-John 14:6 "But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."-Matthew 10:33 “For the wages of sin is death (hell), but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”-Romans 6:23

keep in mind that a lot of that is the result of very intentional marketing pushed by large corporations and the government in order to pain a specific picture of an ideal way of life to the public. A lot of it was catered towards privileged white couples and families in order to keep people from educating themselves on greater social injustices. Not to say that there weren't good people around, but this saccharine "bright and fun" feeling that you get is very intentional and hides a more sinister reality. Just keep that in mind and enjoy the romantic dreamy ideals accordingly.

Okay but Imagine this song being sang like this in a musical where the main girl works at a diner and her ex walks in with his new girlfriend. She sees them walk in and sit at a booth and she walks back into the kitchen but looks through the open kitchen window to see them laughing. This is when the song starts to play, she then goes into her own little world where she flaunts around the diner singing this song dancing around her ex and his new girlfriend. Then during the bridge, it becomes a single spotlight with her slow dancing with her ex then she suddenly pushes him away just to finish up the song and in the end it flashes back to her staring at them through the window. I feel like that's how it would play out😅

Easy to take something like this for granted, but I'm really struck by how much work must have been involved in reimagining this song for a 60s genre. It's extremely successful: the video looks good and it sounds wonderfully period - the whole thing from vocals to arrangement and even the choice of dresses. It's really quite an achievement to do this so well that it's hard to believe the song ever had another manifestation. Some of the PMJ productions are really very inspired. I didn't know the song before I heard this version and I could easily have believed it came from the era of my childhood.

This takes me to the time when i was a young teen totally mad behind my summer fling. We broke up later, but whenever i missed him and felt sad, i used to play this song on my boom box on the highest volume and dance to it. Miss Rodrigo's music was just like therapy to me. Ugh i miss those days so bad. I miss the old music and the great singers. Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Camila Cabello, Ariana Grande... were all so young and beautiful back then!! Just like me, they have also grown older but still not boring to listen to!! AHHH I wish someone can take me to those days back again and my body would support me to dance to this happily.

We broke up a month ago Your friends aren't mine, you know, I know You've moved on, found someone new One more girl who brings out the better in you And I thought my heart was attached For all the sunlight of our past But she's so sweet, she's so pretty Does she mean you forgot about me? Oh, I hope you're happy, but not like how you were with me I'm selfish, I know, I can't let you go So find someone great but don't find no one better I hope you're happy, but don't be happier And do you tell her she's the most beautiful girl you've ever seen? An eternal love bullshit you know you'll never mean Remember when I believed you meant it when you said it first to me? And now I'm pickin' her apart Like cuttin' her down make you miss my wretched heart But she's beautiful, she looks kind, she probably gives you butterflies I hope you're happy, but not like how you were with me I'm selfish, I know, I can't let you go So find someone great but don't find no one better I hope you're happy, I wish you all the best, really Say you love her, baby, just not like you loved me And think of me fondly when your hands are on her I hope you're happy, but don't be happier Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh I hope you're happy, just not like how you were with me I'm selfish, I know, can't let you go So find someone great, don't find no one better I hope you're happy, but don't be happier

In an ironic twist this version is so upbeat and fun and sounds like the girl singing is over the past relationship she had but thinks fondly of it, unlike the original, which is teen sadness and angst and jealousy of the new girl. Also Yellow is the opposite of Olivia’s iconic color: purple. It the Song is a catchy tune and a *happier*/fun mood. It would be great in a 60s musical! Amazing song and voice! I loved it! 💛💜

To hear and see Allison Young is to fall in love with her, as an artist and performer, with an amazing talent and such a compelling vintage style. Perfection! I would love to see more of her engaging, infectious smile, as in some of her 'older' videos. In many of them from the past 6 months or so, it's been conspicuous in its absence, which is sad. If it's a stylistic choice, like an affectation of 'seriousness', it's a less-than-effective one. I hope she's OK. She has that special kind of smile (with a twinkle in her eye like she's sharing an inside joke) that can give people hope and good feelings, gifts that are very much needed these days. Plus, she just seems like a genuinely nice person. Love her!

Happier is a nice song, shows and brings so much emotion from me. But to be honest, I try to avoid hearing it. Because I feel hurt after, I feel pain. Like it makes me feel pity to myself thinking of my past when actually my current situation doesn’t really call for an emotion like that. But this version makes me feel like “yeah i was hurt, but i have moved on, and i wish you happy but no so happy like the way you were with me coz I’m unique baby!”

Why are you triggered? I'm just basing my comment on the song. I know that history's not all rainbows and butterflies.
