I re wrote this comment a dozen times. You can’t imagine the impact Ray had on all of us in our little music scene 20 years ago. Ray could make more of a statement with a snare than Most can with a whole drum store. Many of us knew we really couldn’t hang in with him but it didn’t matter. He let us share the stage with him all the same no matter how good we were. When you see him out there he takes all of our love and hopes with him. Cheers Ray. Keep Bangin.

At Atlanta Lollapalooza, 1990somethjng, rain was eminent. A huge dark cloud made it’s way above the stage, about the same time as Soundgarden took it. The crowd was silent, waiting to be either drenched, or to hear the news that the band couldn’t perform. I kid you not, as soon as the chorus of Black Hole Sun hit, the cloud parted and a burst of sunshine beamed down on Chris and the boys! The crowd went wild! It was as close to a “religious experience” as I’ve ever had.

Way less good band, but I had the exact opposite experience with rain at a Korn concert. No rain the first several songs, as soon as they start Coming Undone the heavens just opened up and downpour. As soon as the song ends, so does the rain. Didn't feel another drop the rest of the show.

@@reverse_engineered No.. thats a tuning effect. Anytime his voice is about to go out of key you can hear it snap back in tune.
