Cuarentena is about taking care of yourself for the future & now. Being too active soon after birth can lead to uterine prolapses. Your bones have just separated to accommodate another human. Your body needs to come back together. You don’t need to be secluded from the world or go out ears all covered,but just take it easy. Your body will thank youuu in the future

@@marilynvillegas4698yup I was out n about at 4weeks pp lol I went glamping and my husband was at work so I was by myself. My son is 2 now just fine and I’m pregnant with my baby girl🤍 I think moms feel the mom guilt from other mothers constantly telling them what they can/can’t do. You know your body the best, yes take it easy but you don’t need to be coddled and can’t step outside lol. Like everyone says you JUST PUSHED A BABY out, I think your body will be fine taking a walk around the neighborhood or a quick stop at target girl

I paused the video and asked my momma what the cuarentena is for and she said "es pa que no tengan relaciones" 🤣 Patty is 100% right about taking care of yourself, your lady bits have gone through it and they're the ones that need you to be mindful and demure.

As a masseuse and a senora vieja I agree with you. I constantly let young mothers know how crucial it is to care for your body and use a faja but at the end of the day they are the only ones who can decide what to do and shouldn't be judge for it either.❤

Labor and delivery nurse here, uterine prolapses don’t occur due to “your bones separating” from not taking care of yourself. Don’t spread false information.
@alissav50224 ай бұрын
I told my midwife about the cuarentena and she recommended something similar. She called it the 2,2,2 rule. & that was just the first two weeks stay in bed, rest and stay warm. The second 2 weeks just stay near the bed so just stay home but absolutely go for walks as many times a day as you want and the last 2 weeks you can go out but try and keep it short. And if you want to leave your house within the first 4 weeks go somewhere where you can be comfortable and lay down if you need. I followed this with my second and felt like I healed better than I did with my first and will be doing it with my third as well!

I've always decorated my house for all holidays and always lit candles when both my kids were small and I taught them not to touch, I wouldn't laugh or smile when they were trying to do things that I didn't want them to do. You just have to have a serious tone and say no, eso no se toca ... No es no es para ti. Kids are like sponges and will learn quickly what they can and can not do.

I'm 44 and Puerto Rican and I don't believe in that hardcore cuarentena. I would rest and take care of myself but I would go out, nothing in my ears but would cover up with a light sweater or jacket. A lot of things are old wives tales, when people didn't know any better and there was no Internet to investigate 😅

I have white couches! White walls my son never threw anything spilled or colored on walls. One rule we have though, we never allowed toys in the living room toys in his bedroom only. And he also does have a tv there. We allowed him to play with markers once he was responsible alone. Aside from that we would do weekly paint or coloring nights place table covers and only in the kitchen or outside. And it worked! Our son is now 5 and loves his fall/christmas decor and enjoys it with us! 🩷

Everyone is different with postpartum healing, go based off of your own mental health. I personally avoid big crowds more so for the baby whose immune system is new. Especially during cold and flu seasons.
@Ashley-bb5ts4 ай бұрын
Cuarentena is about healing your body. Rest and Hydration. It doesn't matter where you are. In your house or out. Listen to your body and take care of your mental health. I appreciate all the cuarentena advice because most of the time people are speaking out of concerned, but unfortunately mych of it is superstition and not medically based. I breast fed both my babies for 20+months and I didnt follow curantena like that. Your milk supply has to do with whats happening hormonally and hydration. Even more than atoles or chocolate, avena thats all great, but what you need is water! You do need to take it easy. Your muscles and uterus need to regain their strength. So dont lift heavy, don't over do it walking or with chores but in moderation walking or other activities are perfectly fine. Ask your Dr. Im sure he will agree. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

For my cuarentena with my first baby I did absolutely nothing , with my second I did do a little more but I didn’t push it , at the moment you might think ehhhh no pasa nada but in the long run your body will feel it girl , just think of it as your body just went through something traumatic you need to let it heal from the inside out , I don’t think walks or a trip to the store is bad but resting is key to healing

My cuarantena is usually 1 month. My first baby literally one month after I was back at church and out and about! Lol. My second baby was 2021 so I stayed home for 3 months 🫠 it was in the middle of the vid so I was scared to go out! Then we finally went out, I think staying home 3 mos was really bad for me personally cause I ended up getting postpartum depression and no visitors was so horrible! But you do what’s best for you! At the end of it, it’s always to take care of yourself and spend that time is the baby bliss of it all 🥹

The retirement home situation i feel like its not as bad as people say bc the older you get you realize maybe you can or cant take care of your parents bc now your own kids are growing up and have kids too and you’re all over the place and what if you cant quit your job. Instead of leaving your parents unattended at home they can be in a place they can be taken care or better. And also like.. youre not abandoning them like its forever, they just live there you can go visit them and all that. Also like say its 5 kids and they all work and you realize like wait theres no one that can quit their job to take care of an elderly parent. Especially the way everything is going up. Who knows what it’ll be when your parents reach that age. Bc even like if the plan is for the parents to retire in mexico or their homeland… what if they need to go to the dr and cant drive or they cant take a shower on their own, then it becomes unrealistic for them to leave . I mean unless they can afford to be away and pay someone to help them with all that. Its just not as simple as it seems and its not as bad as people make it out to be.

They get to live with other’s their age and they have routines/ fun stuff daily. They have nurses checking on them and giving them meds, hot meals morning, noon and dinner. I know it isn’t common but i don’t think i would personally want to inconvenience my kids one day especially with this day and age where most homes are dual incomes. It’s hard!

I am Mexican I wasn’t raised very traditional Mexican and did not follow the staying the house for 40 days. There are some things that you can take from it and it can work for you but it’s not a one size fits all. Modern times doesn’t require all the tradition and superstition of the past. The ones that are judgemental about it are probably the same ones that don’t believe in mental health and fed their kid beans at 1 month 🙃 different strokes for different folks. Just because something is traditionally done doesn’t mean it’s the end all be all.

On the topic of the retirement home sometimes it’s not by choice but because of health. At times the doctor will request it themselves for the elderly persons own care, for reasons such as dementia where someone can get to the point they can only eat through a feeding tube.
