My son had colic from birth to 10 months old. he was hard to sooth but worth every moment he's 3 now. things get better! 2. breastfeeding was not easy for us either. I had mastitis 9 times in the two, years I nursed. 3. he refused a bottle so he neve ever took one 4. the way you talk about your daughter is such a delight to listen to. bless your heart! your little, girl,is lucky to have a mommy like you! happy days!

Hang in there with the nursing. You are doing great. I nursed all 3 of my kiddos. My youngest was my challenge. Thrush, mastitis, acid reflux, improper latch, but we were able to nurse for a yr. I pumped at work and nursed mornings, nights, and days off. You are a great mama I can tell! Good luck and enjoy the journey.

I simply adore how open and honest you are with your viewers. It may seem like too much information for some, but many of us really appreciate that information. It will be some time before I have my own children; however, it is informative and encouraging to know what you have been through. You are my best friend's favorite person too watch and I am glad she introduced me to your channel as well. Being a highly sensitive person, it is nice to know I am not alone and that it is possible to be strong and overcome things even when overwhelmed. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

She's so precious. My youngest son had/has reflux (hers nearly 20) and we used to say that he was "allergic" to clean shirts and sheets due to his reflux issues. He was a formula fed baby due to my medications which I had reduced during pregnancy. Just keep doing what you and Don are doing for CC.

My son had horrible reflux and he was placed on Tagamet. We put his mattress on an incline and held him in by folding a towel and putting it under the mattress cover as you indicated. However, his reflux was so bad that we had to put him on formula with cereal in it. The cereal held the formula in the stomach and helped control the reflux. I hated that I had to stop nursing, but was thrilled that my baby boy could finally get nourished without choking or being uncomfortable. My precious baby boy is now a grown man. I admire how much you love your baby girl and want so badly to make her happy and comfortable. Trust me, you have her for only a short time. Before you know it, she will be in high school, dating, moving on to college, married and starting her own family. Cherish every single moment you and Don have with her. Make lots of pictures and love one another deeply. Children are such a precious gift. Your videos show us that love and adoration. You're a wonderful mom.

My little girl had silent reflux. So much crying and being uncomfortable. I held her through long days and nights. And, indeed, you'll do anything. Sounds like you're doing all the right things. Eye opener to me was not feeding to soothe. The milk soothes the acid affected throat, but also stimulates more acid. For us it slowly got better after 14 weeks. No problems ever since.

Jen, you are doing amazing!! I know you have almost have 1000 comments here but just in case you see this I wanted to tell you that you are doing awesome! I too struggled nursing my first for the first three months but like you I was determined and had a lactation consultant that would come to our home, she was a life saver! Best and most painful decision I have ever made! Lots of tears, lots of frustrations and eventually bliss and the pain disapated we were healthy and all was well. I had mastitis and thrush. Ended up nursing until the two year mark when I became pregnant with the second. I also had a very fussy baby, it was also reflux and gas. Gas can be a vicious cycle of feeding and soothing. Sounds very similar to what you described. You feed to sooth and because they are hungry but then they get gassy and if you put baby back on breast, they get even more gassy. Sounds like you are on the right road though. She is precious!!

Both her babies slept in their own bed, she puts them down when they are still awake and they have learned to self sooth when they wake. For tummy time.. Dear Jen what you eat while breastfeeding can help or contribute to your child's reflux or colic. I had severe problems in that regard with both my children and had to keep detailed track of what I ate to see what helped or caused more problems for my infants. In my case ginger and peppermint tea helped a lot and I had to stay away from turkey although chicken was fine! And cows milk products did not pass my lips for the whole duration of them breastfeeding. I could however have sheep and goat milk where ok. Breastfeeding in as upright a position as possible and keeping them upright helped a lot too. Good luck.

I was going to mention that when I breastfed I had to stop eating certain foods that gave the baby colic. After that she was very well, and comfortable. I was thinking about that since a couple of videos ago, its worth checking into. I couldn't eat cabbage, spicy food, or hot sauce, and I couldn't eat chocolate. Only while breastfeeding, now I love chocolate again!! :)

I had a colicky first baby and it is a bit scary and then you learn more. They get older and develop a bit more, and there are less tears, and more smiles. I understand the challenges you described. It's clear you got this and you are doing great. CC is beautiful.

Just wanted to tell you that you are doing a great job. This was my entire experience with my first baby. He was so miserable. We had him on nexium, tried Cst, Chiro, elimination diet, triple nipple cream, probiotics, nystatin, and the oral antifungal. I am so sorry you have to go through this. You will over come it. It goes away. I used the snuggabunny and the infant day dreamer to help with sleep. I understand your pain. Don't be too hard on yourself! If you need any advice please let me know. I now have a wonderful 20 month old who you would never know we had struggled! Praying my 2 week old little one is alittle easier on us :)

Jen!! The days are long and the years are short!! My little one had awful tummy issues as well and it's so hard as a mamma to see them go through it. She did make it through it but I just wanted to share that I was very cautious when introducing solids because we had issues then as well. You seem to love your time with your little one and you should because they get so big so quick!! Squeeze her and love her for as long as you can there is no such thing and spoiling your little love!! xoxo

Probiotics!!! They make certain ones specifically for little babies/kids. My son was exactly like CC and once we started the probiotics, it made a world of difference.

+Candy K. She's been on probiotics for a few weeks now & it's definitely having a positive impact. I swear by them for my own digestive health as well.

I had thrush with my daughter and it was so painful! I tried pumping and blood would come out.. I had to quit nursing her at 6 months cause it wouldn't go away on my part but hers did! You are so happy as a mom and it agrees with you!! She is so beautiful! My daughter Olivia is 9 now and very healthy and I cherish all those baby memories ... So sweet!!
