It's crazy to think that Stephens pot success in 1996 was 98% that's unheard of. He was an absolute machine in his prime. I still think 1990s version of him would be a top 5 player today

Pick the pocket to lose first and then play the shot(s), but you still don't lose the pocket until afterwards. That way, it's less luck of the draw because you can plan for what pocket is going away.

It shows that Stephen is thinking as a snooker player, taking out the easier reds before trying the ones closer to the cushions. In that second challenge, the risk of losing one of the top pockets was quite high (one in three) and with two balls near the cushion it was not the best strategy to leave them for later, although that is the school of thought in snooker. As a pool player, especially straight pool (or 14.1) where you constantly go for total clearance you are evaluating risks differently. You would leave balls closer to the centre which have several options and attend the riskier ones earlier as long as they are available. I think there is value to get into other cue sports, to learn additional strategies and techniques. That might be something for future episodes, which I would enjoy watching. Anyway, keep up the good work.

So 15 reds equals 5 pockets, so if you got all the way you would have 1 pocket left to clear the colours. I would like to see anyone complete this. Maybe this should be your new tough table challenge
@FloydMaxwell13 сағат бұрын
To make the "Pot 3 balls, lose a pocket" challenge more realistic (because snooker is not this random), you should pre-draw the ball before you pot the third color. Now you might change your shot selection, or play with different shape on the cue ball.

The colour challenge could be made more about skill and luck combined by adding two extra balls marked D and R. With the numbered pocket blockers... D playing the next pot from within the D and R being only playing the pot with a rest... Both these balls could help clear the colours or make it significantly more difficult, just like in a professional match...

Most overrated snooker player of all time Lets remember the standard he had to play back when he won so many titles the only real competitors he had was Davis and White. Ronnie won most of his titles with a much stronger field with so many top players that can win it any day just to name a few Wilson, Higgins, Selby, Williams, Robertson, Allen, Murphy the list goes on and on. So in conclusion he was a great player for the opponents he had to face, did he have any of the type of opponents I mentioned he would definitely not have won much or any.
