Hi ! This material would be much what I was wondering... Thank you for the very kind movie ♪ There is also a place where the wind is very cold at the summit and the mountain road in the middle of trekking. Drink warm, makes us very happy. This, it is also good when you steam the rice to finish. By the way, BGM of your video that I love trad is often used. They too, is one of my favorite things♪

When I was a kid, (I'm 82 now"), there was a common chest at family reunions, called "Fireless cookers".. The were a metal-lined wooden chest that had cork insulation around the 2 large round wells. Ladies would cook their special recipes, place 2 hot bricks in the well, then the pot, and strap the chest on the running board of the car. MAN did we eat good in the '30s. Thanks for the video.

Lol; you said piss at 3:57 Albeit, nice work on getting that tape to stick. Every time I've used that stuff for different projects that involve heat the adhesive on the tape just gets hot and it slides all over the place making a sticky mess.

Thanks Shug, excellent DIY instruction on Cozy construction. I built one and wanted to mention that I used the silver tape you used and I think it's better that using duck tape. The silver tape is actually metal so it's better for hot things. I purchased mine at Home Depot.

I've made similar devices for "bag cooking" using these same materials. Many times when backpacking I'll use the vacuum bags of the freeze dried meals I make myself as the "cooking" vessel and the cozy pouches work great for giving the dehydrated food enough time to rehydrate and keep the food piping hot. The cozy bags as I make them also serve as double duty as an emergency reflective surface in the event you need to signal for help and as a hand warmer in colder temps at night.

This is exactly how I make my pot cozys. Funny to watch you do it the same way I figured to make it. The only difference is I leave a notch for the pot handles (I have the same Snow Peak pot) and make the cozy tight enough to hold itself on. That way I can hold the pot by the handles and the cozy just stays on. Whoo buddy!

Thanks for the video, Shug. How hot can your container be when putting it in a cozy like this? You are so wrong about bigfoot. I spent an afternoon with him one time on the US/Can border. He is very concerned about ascetic appeal. In fact there is a little known fact that most humans don't have. The only reason Bigfoot and his relations exist is to keep the forest neat and clean. I know...I know....you're say, "Neat and Clean!!! Why the woods are always in upheaval". But he told me that afternoon over a nice Jasmine tea, fresh baked crumpets, and homemade strawberry and blueberry jams that he is a firm believer in Feng Shui. He and his family feel that each individual should bring their own experience of beauty to the woods with them, and then they arrange things so that each person sees the woods specifically to their own appeal. He is very deep. He's read Chaucer, and Socrates. Right now he is finishing a Ph.D. in black matter physics. He already has a Ph.D. in animal husbandry. If you ever get a chance to meet him, ask him to buy you a cup of coffee. Before you know it the afternoon will be gone as he regales you with tales of his own, and his mother's side of the family in the Himalayas. He read me one of the most humorous letters from his cousin about scaring climbers and one falling off a 3000 foot cliff after he made himself visible. His cousins too follow the family business of keeping things status quo in the Himalayas. You know all of those "supposed" climbs of Everest? Well, I have to go. Maybe some other time.

***** He told me that one of his cousins introduced him to Ghandi when he went to visit family. He still hasn't bought in to all the passive resistance stuff, but he said he was surprised when meeting him as to use his words, "the guy smelled pretty good, you know, what with all the curry and rice. Care for a cigar?".

As always... Great video Shug. Great minds think alike. I made a how to cozy video last week and afterwards ran into Brian Greens video. I have been editing mine but after seeing how good your is I may shelve it for a while. I like the way you tack the tape down. In the past I was trying to go lighter and use less and less tape. The problem was the tape wouldn't hold as well and would sometimes pop off in storage. I went back to taping more and tacking it down very similar to what you do.

Hey Shug, can this reflectix be used in the hammock as a sleep pad? I bet it could reflect body heat in a pinch. I have a small piece I am using as a floor mat for when I take my boots off. I cut a piece about 14x14 inches and used duct tape rolled over the edges. When not in use it doesn't take up a lot of room in the pack. Also I can use it when I need some layer to sit on instead of the snow.

Hey Shug, I have made them before from watching other videos but they were not as fun as yours to watch. They are a great item on a pot especially in the winter. I have a little tip for you...You can fold the tape together and make an upside down "T" Stick the top of the "T" to the top of the cozy. It becomes a light handle that will also fold flat. Take care, Bluefin

Reflective bubble wrap only has a good R value if there is an air space (read the specs from the company). It only reflects radiation. Right against your pot or hot food has the heat conduct right to the large (relative) air in the bubbles, and out to the outside world. If reflective insulation was so good we would wear it or use it as a sleeping pad right against our bodies.
