I think this video just convinced me to start running desires, I initially didn't like it due to the aforementioned Eugene's thoughts of banishing cards I may or may not need. But that "At this moment in time the card is doing nothing for me" just won me over. That is very true, the amount of time it would have taken me to reach that card is also more than enough time for my opponent to just destroy me. I guess in the event that Pot of Desires does banish the stuff I need then the result won't change because at the time I didn't have those options anyway. tldr: All this time I was refusing to play it because I didn't want to forsake Virtual Card Advantage for Real Card Advantage.

@jacobcrumpton4643
@jacobcrumpton4643 7 жыл бұрын
Ghorda9 actually, the only viable thong is the back up. Pot of desires banished face down, so cards like acquisitiveness and burial won't effect them. The best way to get those cards back that I know of its necroface, which shuffles them in regardless. When their face down, your opponent can't confirm that their viable targets till after the effect goes off, so targeting effects don't work.

To put Pot of Desires into perspective: Magic the Gathering has a card called Demonic Consltation. For 1 black mana (which is very cheap) you can name a card. Then you exile (banish) the top 6 cards of your deck and keep revealing cards until your named card appears, you put it in your hand and exile the rest. Demonic Consultation can make you loose the game if you get unlucky, but it still had to be restricted to 1 or outright banned, depending on the format.

Leon Kalkert I guess in some decks, you really do have a high chance of making the game unwinnable with Pot of Desires. Then something else would be better. One of the cards you draw with Pot of Desires is a card you would have drawn if you did not run Pot of Desires. But for the rest, it is playable.

I understand the concept, but I still feel like my deck would suffer more than gain from it simply because I run way too many one-ofs, and practically every card in my deck is a combo piece that I can search into that could mean certain death should I banish any. But in a deck that has less draw power and more three-ofs, I feel like this card really shines.

Desires is a good overall card, BUT, decks that have a card they can't lose or play cards you don't run at 3 but still need them hate desires ( example is my phantasm spyral deck, banish 1 city is bad, 2 is 99% chance of losing the game, also I run 2 of a boss monter and 2 of a eff negation trap, they may not be in my hand yet, but losing them really hurts my win condition)
@lostinaseaofdreams
@lostinaseaofdreams 7 жыл бұрын
I don't run Desires in my Phantasm Spiral deck. Instead, I go run 3x Demise, 3x Duality, 1x Upstart. Not really sure which is better. Though I run a more trap heavy build.
@neooreos1263
@neooreos1263 7 жыл бұрын
I play Spirals too, and I don't play Desires in it because the whole point of the deck is to get the advantage early and stay on top. While you do get 2 cards off Desires instantly, It's hard to risk losing Pacifis, PS Battle and PS Power, because they're the best tools to help you keep your advantage over the opponent (mostly because they're searchable). I feel that if i even lose one of those nine cards (which is VERY possible), that could be the reason I lose the game, because I find myself using most, if not all, of those cards in tight games. But on the other hand, free +1 so.... I would say it's the player's choice to run.

You are winning more games because of Desires than you lose because of it. That is all that matters. I have drawn into that "one card" that won me the game so many times off of it. It banishes a lot of cards, so if the one card you need is still there after the cost you actually have a really good chance of drawing into it. Sadly, that's not how people look at it. You are free not to like it, though. Just don't say it's bad.

I don't know if 21 is young or not to you but to me it is not too young. Also, i don't know why you'd assume i was young for having my own opinion.

I know drawing cards is good, but I feel like I only want to run it in decks where I have 3 copies of like all cards XD whenever I have 2 or 1 of a card, its bound to get banished

Oligoden It's perfect for decks that do a lot of searching. You can search all your important combo peaces before activating desires.

I think Pot of Desires might work well in a Helios deck too. Since Helios gains Attack based on the cards that have been banished, you could use Desires, get 2 cards, and a quick 1000 attack boost. Edit: OK, I was apparently wrong. Cards banished face down don't count towards a Helios attack boost. HOWEVER, it DOES count for Eater of Millions, so use Desires, special summon Eater, and watch that attack SOAR.
