Noreen is a great cook indeed. I've had to teach myself too cook. My Dad's mom was a superb cook but did not live in the same town as her so even tho we saw her quite a lot i was not luck enough to learn from her. So I started practicing and reading all cook book I could and asking people questions if I could find some one who was a real good cook or by just getting in there and cooking and either failing till I learned or it came out great. Trial and error and reading cook books.

@noreenskitchenchannel8 жыл бұрын
Samantha Silas this dough is nit suitable fir freezing. You should bake the rolls off then freeze. Dough made at home should not be frozen. Commercial dough is different and flash frozen. You cannot achieve this in the home kitchen without compromising the integrity of the dough.

Nice Noreen. What would you think about making hamburger buns with this recipe ? How much dough do you think for a bun ? 4 - 5 oz. maybe. Would this recipe still work if halved ? I've made your cinnamon pull apart bread and your sandwich bread recipes and they were great.
@noreenskitchenchannel7 жыл бұрын
These buns are sort of dense after a day or so. I don't know about hamburger buns. Only way to see if it works is to give it a try. 4 or 5 ounces is far to large. I pan out my burger buns at 3 ounces each. I have never halved this recipe, but you could try it. thanks for the comment.

Yes, but you are going to have to proof it first not just dump it in the bowl like I did. Instant yeast requires no proofing.

First of all I love your channel. I am new to breaking making and iam always worried of food poisoning. I see you used eggs is it safe to use? can eggs sit at room temp that long while the dough is rising. I am just curious because I am new to making bread
@noreenskitchenchannel8 жыл бұрын
The eggs are perfectly safe. You are not eating the dough raw. You should not consume raw flour or raw eggs. You are eating this after it is baked. There are lots of recipes for bread that contain eggs. Eggs enrich the dough and in some cases eggs are used as a leavener.

Can these be frozen and baked as needed?
@noreenskitchenchannel7 жыл бұрын
No they should be baked and then frozen. Freezing dough in the home kitchen is not recommended because the freezer at home does not get as cold as a commercial freezer. This will cause the dough to continue to rise in the freezer. Upon thawing it will not have as much rising power once baked off. Best to bake and then freeze and thaw on the counter and warm in the oven.

could you use real mash potatos, or do you have to use the flakes?
@noreenskitchenchannel8 жыл бұрын
You can use real mashed potatoes, however they need to be plain with no added butter or milk/cream. So the potato needs to be peeled, boiled and drained, then mashed and cooled. That is why I used the potato flakes, because they are REAL potatoes, just dehydrated ones. Not fake potatoes. Real potatoes that are easy to use in breads when you need them and don't want to cook a fresh potato and go through all the waiting of cooking, mashing and cooling to room temp. This was a lot easier and it is still a real potato.
@cowboybootlicker8 жыл бұрын
Yes I know they are real potatos that have been dehydrated. I'm sorry myself call instant mash potatos flakes cause they look like oatmeal dust flakes when you pour it out of the box or bag. So I hope I didn't upset you. But we make mash potatos about 3 to 4 times a week so I was thinking of pulling a few potatos and putting them to the side and using them the next day to make these. They look really yummy and does not look hard to make for a beginner cook and this is my first thanksgiving I'm doing by myself I thinking I could make these after dinner on weds night and just lol them in the oven Thursday 5 minutes before we eat just to warm them up
@noreenskitchenchannel8 жыл бұрын

well cupcake, this is real life. I make no apologies for "playing with kittens". Which in my life translates to "rescue cats" to be re homed etc. Not to mention other wildlife, an avid gardener, I hate gloves. My hands are real, they are used for real work. If you want to judge me for that than so be it. But know this. I did not invite you into my kitchen to eat. Only to see how I made something you can make yourself. If you choose to wear a full body condom when you cook, then great! I am a real person, with a real life. Sometimes that life involves scratches and scrapes. It does not bother me and if if bothers you than that is your problem. I find your comment to be rude and unnecessary. Just move on man. Nobody cares how you feel about my hands.
