holly cow I don't believe it. That is the only way my grandmother ever made potatoes she would cut up onions and put in there too. I loved those potatoes so much. Then she was gone and I tried for years to make them the same way. I did finally figure it out but who knew all I had to do was watch you in the kitchen.

My mom use to make this when I was young and she called that potatoes stew ! I make it my self today and I make it like my mom did. We first boiled the potatoes with onions salt and pepper till the potatoes started to break a little but we cut the potatoes in big chunks so there's no little pieces in the stew. We drain the potatoes but keep the liquid. Then we put a lot's of butter in the same pan as we cook the potatoes and we make a rou with some flour to cook the flour and cook it till the flour/ butter get a little brown. Then we pour the potatoes liquid in and mix . And then We poured some evaporate milk to the consistance we want or if you prefer milk you can put milk but with evaporate milk oh my it's sooooooo creamy and so good you must try it!!!! Put some white and black pepper in, white pepper give that little taste that is so addictive ....I put onions powders and salt and it's done! Bye bye
