I love you Dr Klaper! I hired you before I hired Andrew Taylor and you both really helped me! I know that you are full of integrity and genius you're really really intelligent and your video on walking down the supermarket aisle when cookies callouts who is one of my favorites! I thought Andrew Taylor's response was really excellent. He is my coach and I have lost 40 pounds and maintain a 40 pound weight loss. White potatoes are big part of my diet although not my entire diet and my blood work is excellent now that I've lost all the weight. I was surprised by your video but I know how awesome you are and how much integrity you have so I'm really pleased to see this response and I'm so sorry that people hurt you and you lost followers I wish they would watch this KZbin and re-subscribe. Your video just shows what a great human being you are as well as great doctor and how compassionate and understanding you are!

Thank you Dr. Klaper, your voice is needed, necessary, and appreciated in the plant based community. It's unrealistic to expect everyone will be happy with the every message or that anyone will be absolutely perfect. I imagine a percentage of people having trouble with potatoes are cooking them with oil, putting fatty sauces like ranch on top of them, or worse case scenario "loaded" with bacon & cheese. Side note: I've heard you voice direct opposition to people who typically use the words "cancel culture". If it isn't a wish to be aligned with their way of thinking, I'd reframe from using the term.

Your a great man Dr. Klaper how wonderful and kind you are truly. It fills me with such sadness that anyone would be malicious towards you for expressing a nuanced caveat that you’ve witnessed with your decades worth of experience in medicine utilising plant based diets. You have the clinical experience and have seen discrepancies with certain patients and we’d do well to respect that. Much love from Ireland x

Truth be told, Dr. Klaper, you are the one plant-based physician that I most truly respect and your discussion on the white potato was very clear to me. I listen to and do respect all of the plant-based physicians but put all of the thoughts about nutrition into perspective. Though knee-jerk reactions to tightly held beliefs will surface on occasion, don't ever worry that those of us who truly understand will ever disrespect your informed and science-backed recommendations.

I'm so sad to hear this happened! I don't always look at the comments and had NO idea. THANK YOU for this. I'm just one person, but I'm still with you, Dr Klaper. I'm 62 and I've lost almost 70 pounds. You have and still continue to teach me a LOT about my health. Thank you again.

I'm still a subscriber. When I saw the potato video I wondered about my own potato intake, but my numbers are good, and I see no reason to personally cut down so I figured I am not in an at-risk group who may do better watching their choices and perhaps cutting down on taters. I think it's good that we can have discussions like these, aside from the vitriol of course. I respect you, Dr. Klaper, for making this video. You do so much to help so many. You do not deserve to be canceled or berated - I am sorry to know this hurt you. But I also know you are imbued with can-do spirit and integrity, and that's why I follow you. Dr. Klaper I'm so sorry that this happened to you! I'm still with you and always will be! There are only a handful of doctors in the field of nutrition that I trust and you are at the top of the list! Other spots on the list are occupied by Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Michael Greger, etc. I have no idea what is wrong with folks these days, they are so fast to attack if your opinion differs from theirs in any way. It's really sad to see the anger and intolerance that lives among us these days. Dr. Klaper in my life, you have been a God send and a true blessing! It was stumbling upon one of your whole food, plant based lectures that persuaded me to completely change my diet. Within a week, I was feeling better than I had felt for awhile. I've now been on a WFPB diet for about 8 weeks and I'm seeing steady improvement all over. I'm finding that now when I get a craving for those things that are NOT FOOD, I think about the things you have said and find the desire fades away. I think of how much better I feel and go grab some celery, carrots, pea pods and smile thinking every bite now contributes to my feeling better. Let the "neggies" (negative commentators) spout what they will, but YOU are the one who finally showed me a way of living that works for me - and I'm ever so grateful.

Take care and keep telling us the truth. I'm sorry people didn't listen carefully to what you originally said - regarding people with diabetes, not everyone!!!!

It is refreshing to hear a plant based expert not just push potatoes and high carbs for everyone. There are instances where lower carb plant based is advantageous. I think we need to focus on what unites us... whole food, plant based, no junk food and added sugars. And our shared goal of a healthier world.

I did the potato diet and lost my quarantine weight. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm a new subscriber, i just seen something from Dr. Mc dougall on F.B stating something about what happened, so sorry to hear that people are so not understanding of the white potato. Thanks to Dr. Mcdougall for referring me to you. You are amazing and look great.

How awful I’m so appalled this happened to you Dr Klapper. You are the loveliest kindest man and don’t deserve the hate :-( your response in this video shows you are a man of integrity.

So sorry Dr. Klaper there are so many angry people around. Any opportunity to be nasty. You offer very valuable information and I, for one, appreciate it!
