I love the daily tips. I have been plant-based for 1 year and my health is getting so much better. I like to share these videos with my curious family members or those whom I know want to transition. Thank you for this source of information.

Im working on transitioning to a WFPB diet since I dont really eat much meat to begin with but I also want my mom to eat more veggies on the daily. One way I got her to eat more veggies is by making her a bakes salmon and I steamed a lot of veggies more than actual fish and she really liked it. All of a sudden I saw her eating veggies on her own no meat in sight. I was really surprised but proud she did it on her own.

whats causing the blockage? is it the bulk of the food? if that is the case, you could instead do a low carb whole food plant based diet. also drinking your calories could also make it much easier if that is the main problem. focusing more on non-starchy veg, green smoothies, soy products and fermented protein products could be really helpful also, eating many very small meals during the day instead of having 3 large meals a day would probably also be very helpful.you can have a really good healthy diet this way.

my midmorning meal could consist of brown rice, quinoa, half an avocado, chopped onions {non-vegan: my yogurt with garlic and seasonings---I don't have a problem with quality plain yogurt)

You can do it, Luke, just start with one day a week for a week, then 2 days ... I know you can get there. I think it's also okay to have some cheat meals during the week. Go for mostly whole foods and you will be there!

which part of the whole foods are you struggling with? is it eating higher volumes of food? or is it making the time to prepare whole foods? if it is the volume problem you can start getting over that by drinking smoothies/smoothie bowels. if it is the time problem, then i recommend going grocery shopping on a day that you have nothing to do - like the weekend. so when you get home from the grocery store you can begin preparing your food to make it as convenient as possible. get bunch of storage containers and silicone storage bags. make up 2 cups of dry rice (which'll turn into like 4-6 cups of cooked rice), make a batch of quinoa and a batch of millet. So make 3 batches of different grains - for variety. Purchase canned beans so you don't have to think about cooking them. wash, dry (very well), and cut up your greens - or buy the bagged greens. have frozen greens as well - you can use those for cooked meals and fresh ones for raw meals. purchase fruit you can eat without cutting up. canned & frozen food will be your best friend until you figure out your timing for making meals. steam up a big ole batch of broccoli, edamame, carrots, cabbage, and greens too. roast off a bunch of beets and sweet potatoes. slice celery - store in water to keep good and crunchy for long time. works with carrots too. pre slice cucumbers. only buy grape or cherry tom. so you dont have to worry about cutting them. grind up your flax seeds- store in fridge. mash a bunch of bananas, avocados, dates - freeze. bake off some delicious low sugar zuchinni muffins for breakfast. prepare a few containers of over night oats and over night chia pudding. having all this pre-cooked and pre-sliced food will make putting together meals as quickly and efficiently as possible - it only takes few minutes longer than the processed stuff.doing this once a week will leave you with great food to eat at any moment for the whole week. and if you having been eating a mainly whole foods diet for most of your life you gotta start small! its soooo difficult to just say "yup tomorrow is whole foods only from here on out!" start today, with the here and now. say you wake up in the morning and instead of being like "oh no oh no i have no time" and grab a protein aka candy bar on your way out the door - grab one of your containers of overnight oats or an apple or two and some peanut butter. start by making 1 meal a day whole foods. just take it one day, each meal at a time and give yourself time and space and you will get there

I wish more plant based doctors would emphasise the protein and fats in the meals in order to make them more satisfying... Some people just can't thrive on starches and veggies only
