I love this! I also have a Ranger character who patrols Falkreath, I bring metal weapons and armor to Lod so he can smelt it down for the town, I bring potions and rare ingredients to Zaria the alchemist so she can make potions and medicine for the town, I bring all hunted meat to the innkeeper so as to keep the town fed, I bring all raw vegetables I find to the farmer Matheus so he can sell them and supply the town with food, and lastly I bring Zoloft any rare valuables like gems and jewelry scrolls, and enchanted items to him so he can sell them. And all these efforts help to keep Falkreath hold safe and well supplied so its economy can thrive. I also regularly patrol the roads around Falkreath and the borders from the reach to the rift and the Jerral Mountains bordering Cyridiil to the soth. I freaking love Rangers!

@@niall1257 I just sell them. I’ve been playing Skyrim since it first came out, Ive made millions of gold, and I have made broken characters. My Ranger character is more of a guardian over Falkreath- he makes his gold looting bodies, treasure hunting, and completing quests and bounties. But I also use the “smelt down” mod to then smelt any excess gold I get into gold bars and then sell them back to Solaf to reignite the economy. (excess to me is anything over 1000) Rangers don’t really need Gold anyway, they live very close to the land and they can craft their own food and shelter for free while patrolling. So I just use gold to basically pay for additional weapons and armor upgrades (as if I’m not a lv100 smith, ‘cuz I’m a Ranger - not a blacksmith.) For me it’s all about immersion, the townspeople don’t actually USE these items the way that I’ve described- but I like to pretend they do. 👍

@@niall1257 one of my favorite ways to start this character is to have the the “live another life” mod installed. (Also with Frostfall, Campfire, and hunterborn installed as a base) Then choose the “I’m camping in the woods” option. This gives me a free home and storage sack, a fire and cooking pot, a bow, an axe, and access to a wood chopping block. It’s a great bit of supplies to start this Ranger build. Then once I receive the letter from Sidgir at lv 10 to be his “Thane” I present it says “Ranger” instead. Then I’ll complete his task, and then head up to Angie’s camp to begin honing my hunting, archery, and survival skills! (As if she’s like a Ranger trainer) Then over the course of 4 days and 3 nights Up in the Jerrals - I would check in daily with Angie to learn a new Archery technique, then start the days Ranger survival training. Then once all 3 of her challenges are completed I make my way back down to Falkreath to begin my new Career as a Ranger of Falkreath!

Another quality series starting! One thing I always wished was an option or at least a mod, was the ability to enchant weapons for people as a job. The guards sometime comment if you have high enchanting and the College staff mention that enchanting is a service they offer Skyrim

I love playing a ranger in Skyrim and it's my favorite archetype. Please continue the series. There aren't many ranger playthroughs on KZbin.

My big introduction to Skyrim was a KZbin channel by a storyteller who went by the name of "Couch Warrior". He created many unique and fascinating characters and told their stories in playthroughs much as you are doing here. He was also an exceptional voice actor and gave each of his characters a unique personality. To this day, I cannot think of Skyrim as a game where you just go around killing enemies. Thanks to Couch Warrior, Skyrim will always be a place where very unique characters live out their lives and have many adventures! I have attempted to follow this approach when I play, and have had a lot of fun with a variety of characters including shamans, bounty hunters, treasure seekers, and bards. My goal is to do my best to stay true to the personality and motives of each character and to approach each encounter as that character would.

The weirdest but most fun run I had was a mad cup collector. He did everything he could to collect every cup he saw and heard of. So things like the blood chalice from the volkihar clan etc were things he could only dream of. Its funny where the hunt after cups leads you.

A mod I highly recommend is the Headhunter mod, which allows you to actually subdue and capture bounty targets rather than forcing you to kill them. The thief and vampire bounties always force you to attack and kill non-aggressive NPCs rather than just demanding their surrender first. Imagine what that looks like to the regular townsfolk.

yay a new series ^^ just as I startet a new playthrough of skyrim ^^ I try to spin a story where my character can nearly do every Guild there is and have it make sense ^^ at the moment he just joined the Thiefs guild and will soon be in Windhelm to hear about the Aretino Boy and the Dark Brotherhood after he already was a member of the Black Hand and the thiefs guild in Cyrodyll where he comes from, it is easy for him to join those here in Skyrim. He is definitely going to help the Dark Brotherhood back to his Feet, preferably with Cicero and without Astrid XD

I'm currently playing as an argonian who would have been perfectly happy becoming a role citizen upon entering Skyrim. First he was arrested upon crossing the border and treated as a criminal. Then, even though there was no proof he had done anything wrong, he was going to be beheaded anyway. Only one person raised any objection but even he stood by and did nothing, was going to let an innocent die simply because he was told to. Now he's determined to kill everyone in sight but he has to be smart about it as he gains the skills and abilities needed to do so.
