AI cheat boosts aside, Kame is almost certainly so far ahead because he spread all over creation with tons of cities. I've little experience with lek mod but it seems like settling on 4 cities max with tradition just feels like shooting yourself in the foot before a marathon that started 30 minutes ago and you're just now starting to run. Sure tradition doesn't benefit your 5th city, but you still get all the other benefits of a 5th city, and that island west of the capital would've been a great spot.
@Crytaljam25 күн бұрын
@@Sp4rt4nSl4ya The strong point of tradition is population and science as a result, but he never even caught up on either. And the main drawback of tradition being poor production was amplified by the capital This start may just be too difficult to win at immortal difficulty. The best shot would be to rush embark for new cities and forget about the capital, and also make the AI fight each other early on to hinder their growth as much as possible and pray they don't randomly hate you

Picking freedom ideology when the whole world went order (and your tourism is low) is just asking for trouble on deity Civ 5. Having different ideologies is a guaranteed war declaration from all order civs. A high tourism output will severely weaken opposing military and eventually force a revolution, assuming you don’t get steamrolled before that happens; gotta know when that’s realistic.

You just underscored the severe mechanical problems with Civ V. Civ is a 4X game but the way you play Civ V, expanding is prohibitively costly. It's totally counterintuitive. Sure he could have expanded to that island but it would have cost him greatly in happiness, science and culture penalties for many turns before the city would recoup these costs and likely making him fall further behind than he already is. It sucks. Even now I'm going back to play Civ V and it's such a tedious experience. The game puts its boot on your neck at every turn, meanwhile the AI is expanding like wild ivy across the map unperturbed by happiness issues. Civ VI may have its issues but it is head and shoulders superior as a 4x game over V.

So after watching these series, I thought I'd give that mod a try. I swear to God, that mod is a troll. I selected Artaxis(?) who gives you a bonus for mountain tiles. I've explored 1/2 the map. There's 1, 1 mountain tile that Bulgaria has already claimed. They settled next to it, for their 2nd city. It was 5 tiles from their capital and it's 10 hexes away from me. My starting location was on the plains, next to a lake. Which is next to flat desert.
@DoABarrelRol1l26 күн бұрын
I recommend messing with the map type at game creation to fit your civ. In this case maybe lower the sea level and make the world age younger for more mountain spawn. For extra fun I recommend the Really Advanced Setup mod which lets you affect map gen without directly placing tiles. So for example I have all my games start with 2 mountains between 2-12 tiles from my starting position, so I can find a mountain city for getting Wonders. On higher difficulties like Deity / Immortal I like to sneak in a Natural wonder, start with extra settlers science etc. Really helps you flush out your Lekmod dreams in single player.

Potato if you send a spy as a diplomat to another player you can trade for a vote at the world congress. They will spend atleast one vote on whatever proposal you traded for. They also can't backstab you and change their vote after the trade. After the deal has been made you can move your spy. If you buy the vote at the start of the session you should have enough time to move your spy to another player to buy their vote aswell. The trick is that players can only vote yes or no on proposals. So if you trade for someone to vote yes than they are forced to put atleast one point into yes but they no longer can dump all their points into no. So if you see someone with 20 votes is going to vote against you, bribing them to vote with you turns -20 votes into +1 votes towards you.
