Idk if this may come up at some point... but there is a city-state (auckland) that when you get suzerain of, ALL shallow tiles gain +1 production, and another +1 when in the industrial area. I make a habit of rushing Suzerain of Auckland as Maori because of how Amazing this is!

Mausoleum + Shipyard + Auckland and some reef tiles are the best in the game. EDIT: Maori, Mausoleum, Cardiff suz, Auckland suz, Harbor with all buildings, water park w/ aquarium, reef tiles and God of the Sea pantheon= Mega Nutty Tiles, bonus if you’re near Galapagos or Great Barrier Reef

If you had the same amount of Arabias as there were possible religions in that game, it would probably spawn a great prophet in 1st turn for each arabia and leave other players unable to get them... or it would only proc for the last prophet, which would give prophets to all arabias, but only the first one making the religion would be allowed to do that, and all the others would be left with unusable unit

You can purchase city buildings; granary, water mill, sewer and flood walls with faith with Valetta’s unique suzerain bonus. Also I would suggest prioritizing entertainment complexes in your cities in the future, if you haven’t already pre-recorded. Because with the Zoo You can get +1 cience for every rainforest tile in your city. So that can be your main source of science.

Yes floodplains count as features there's an Map Editor Mod in the workshop that lets you edit the terrain in-game and to make a floodplain you must have the tile set to either 3 terrain types Grassland/Plains/Desert and then put in the feature as the right floodplain type

When you've alliances with the AI you'll loose some of the citystates to your allies. Shared vision shows them to your allies. I lost most of the citystate suseranities to my "allies" in a earlier try of this.

here is a fun trick if you are an awful person. the AI can't do math. you can make deals like "70 - 100 gold once for 3 - 5 gold per turn for 30 turns", aka a high intrest loan. using this i was able to fleece the entire world as the phoenicians.

4 AI have no more than 50 science in Medieval era, while in my games on Immortal AI can have over 100 science in Medieval era (not even Korea)

On Terra maps the AI get really crowded together so most of them don't get out nearly as many cities and districts and end up quite weak

If you build Chichen Itza in your Western city, you could potentially get 3 culture, 2 gold, 1 faith, 1 science, 7 production, 2 food in all of your rainforest tiles. Tried this map, and the yields are crazy, every workable tile gives at least 5 production, up to 7

His yields are through the roof because he is getting many free envoys from being the first to discover the city states on a continent he has to himself. Check the city state screen on how those yields are given.

Just finished Maori on Terra map. They get really ridiculous now with monopolies if you're on the city-state continent. I had 6 or 7 monopolies! It's cheesing it a little to go Maori/Terra, but dang are they powerful in that scenario

You mentioned a Specialist Slot for Government Plaza, but if you would like there is a wonderful mod that does add just what you suggested plus all other other districts become 3 yields not 2 (for the most part), i love that mod, and it doesn't feel OP or anything. Let me know if you wanna try it! (but i know you don't use mods much)

Yeah… decided to try this for a laugh... I had an entire continent to myself... With No Niter! How does that happen!? Made things 'interesting' when I was stuck with really highy Level Quadriremes against Caravels and Frigates, though Privateers did help to fill that hole until I got Battleships right before claiming a culture Victory :D The midgame trade routes I had were utterly ridiculous because I managed to get a city on an Island that allowed me to hop across the ocean to the other Civs, and the 2/3rds of the way round the world trade routes mostly over water were just silly in terms of gold generated.
