Hey Potato - just to say that, ahead of the new Civs dropping later this month, I managed to complete my "Faithless Civ challenge". I managed to win a game without generating a single point of faith... It took some doing - First, I had to choose a Civ that wouldn't generate faith with their abilities - I had tried with Lady SIx Sky a few times, but in my successful run I won with Suleiman. I had to be on a small map - I picked the Duel map, and had tried with Pangaea, but eventually won with Inland Sea... I wanted to minimise the chance of being the first to meet a Religious city state - so had just two city states in my successful run (in the end, one of those was Nazca, but they were right on the other side of the world) I also didn't want to have random faith pickups from goodie huts, so (with a heavy heart) turned off tribal villages. And to avoid being overrun by missionaries, I included two versions of Mvemba... Some of my runs ended immediately when I spawned next to something like Incense or Pearls... Some ended when I discovered a religious city state. Some I messed up by building a world wonder forgetting that one of the bonuses was faith per turn... Even on my successful run I had to reload a couple of autosaves after going onto autopilot and sending trade routes to Nazca (they were punished in the end when I razed the city...) But in the end, I managed to successfully wipe out Mvemba 1, and take the coastal capital of Mvemba 2, to win my challenge!

Indeed, gotta say I disagree with harvesting the rainforest on the gems tile though unless you're already in the modern era. That rainforest tile buff goes a long way, and leaves your options open to sneak a Chichen Itza into a city if it has 2 or more of them for ridiculous tile values.

@@masterofgreymog5751 Could go either way, it's still 30+ turns of yields for the chop, so keeping it is a very long term play and advantages snowball more the earlier you can exploit them. If getting the production or pop now gets you something you need earlier it may be an advantage that is always worth more than 1 food or production yield and a builder charge for the rest of the game.

Korea being in your "amazing start games" actually is kinda nice : as annoying as it may be, at least you can beat her! Seriously, I wish Korea was redesigned/nerfed to be more like the Maya (who require true planning to be strong). That way the dumb AI wouldn't be able to fully harness the bonuses and we would not get those ridiculous 200 science on turn 50 that deity Seondeok seems to pull out so often.
@christopherjacobo16694 жыл бұрын
I completely agree my dude
@AnAngelineer4 жыл бұрын
@Samuel Tiscareno There is some truth in that. but we are talking about the specific issue of designing around those bonuses becoming too good for the deity AI. Seondeok has an agenda that causes her to max her science and hate basically all human players with less science than her. If you spawn next to her on deity and she decides she doesn't like you, you're dead. There is basically nothing you can do. They figured out a workaround for Gilgamesh by making him more friendly than the other AIs : yes, he has crazy unfair science in the early game on deity, but you can become his friend 99% of the time and be safe from him. You can NOT do that kind of thing with Seondeok. If they don't nerf the civ itself, they could at least do that : tweak the Ai so it is easier to befriend. I would be happy with that, even if I would like a small nerf even more.
@LAZERAK47V24 жыл бұрын
Next patch should be able to remove civs from spawning, like they have for world wonders and watch Korea never spawn

Just trying to get those in, while you still read comments since you didn't see them yesterday. 3 Questions: 1. Don't specialists also give Great Ppl points? Or was that only civ 5 2. Would you say its worth to remove bonus resources (like the cattle in Rome) to make room for more farm triangles? 3. Are Trade Routes updated when you finish a district? I.E. when you finish the industrial zone in rome will all routes instantly gain +1 production or do you have to wait till you can resend them.
@thedirtbagstash4 жыл бұрын
1. only in 5, though the building that provide the specialist slots give GPP in 6 2. Most of the time harvesting is a better call if you have the builder charges and you aren't nerfing production potential of a city that will need it long term 3. Trade routes update in real time, I'm 98.6%
