Things I learned a in my previous game as the Maori on Terra Geneva is OP Vilnius plus aesthetics will triple your adjacency Reyna can give you 2 food, 6 production, 1 faith, 1 culture, 2 gold forest hills with 15 appeal Pray you don’t have Norway in the game so you get all the city states to yourself Auckland literally wins you the game You can get a 22 pop city on three tiles in the the ocean Having a ~120 production capital city is awesome Machu Picchu is the only reliable way to get theater square adjacency Good luck on the game

Hey dude love the videos! You’re the best civ player I watch, and I’ve been kinda thinking of a cool challenge you could do. Try to win a deity game as the worst civ for a victory type and play against the AI that are the best for that same victory type. For example win a culture game playing against Pericles, Gorgo, Trojan, and other great culture civs but you play as one of the worst for culture and still try to win with culture. Basically you’re trying to use the worst civ for a certain type of victory and win against the best civs for that type of victory!

7:50 Don't attack. Skip turn and Let the AI attack. They're attacking across a river so they probably won't be able to kill the warrior that turn. Then next turn your warrior can just fart in its general direction and that will be enough to finish it off and take the camp.

Regarding pronunciations... Don't worry. With the different dialects, you'd be forgiven if you were to mispronounce a few things based on the spelling. Besides, those that live at Otatara Pa wouldn't have an issue. They're sheep after all. Literally. P.S. Some of the names, like Whakarewarewa, might make the video demonetised if pronounced correctly funny enough.

Love your videos. I play on Switch, and there is no search function (like you did for tribal villages). There is a function you may not know about that DOES work on console. The Trade Route button has a tab to show available trade routes. It's my new favorite feature, let's me figure out which city to send those routes from super quickly. It's a game changer!

Starting to use the map search function was something that changed my gameplay. So good for searching for tribal villages, see what wonders the AI are building or check for resorces.

In my current game as Brazil, playing on a continents map, I got placed on a continent where I was all on my own, only with a city state on it. I claimed the whole continent, placing 7 cities on it. The only downside was that I was alone and couldn't meet anyone, but I claimed a tribal village on a nearby island and they gave me the Cartography tech when I was still in the Classical era. This pretty much allowed me to explore much earlier.

Any time I find a relic early, I grab the relic bonus in my religion. +12 faith a turn from your relic and any more you come across is an insane bonus once you get your 6 slot government and can start buying troops with faith. Plus you can have so much faith coming in you can consider buying great people for the advantages they provide.

I think it would be interesting to do the math on the “production value” of faith from Earth Goddess compared to fishing boat production. I feel like in a Kupe game with lots of woods and coast there would be tonnes of faith available to translate into settlers, campus and TS buildings, units and great people.

Talking about saying acronyms out loud, one of my favorite things to do is use redundant acronyms. I say "as asap as possible" all the time. That and "ham as af." That's "hard as a motherfucker as as fuck." I legit love it so much.

A few early tips for Maori here. 1. Don't build scouts. Build Warriors. They have the same naval movement and upgrade to Toa. 2. Don't settle your capital near too many land resources. You need fishing boats and a spot to get your harbour to +6 adjacency. Forrests/jungle are often better than bonus resources as Maori.

The first civ I have ever used to play Civ 6, was Maori, when I 1st played Civ 6, I looked at the civs, and I picked Maori. The Reason I picked Maori when I 1st played is because of the water advantages, When I read Maori's Advantages, I did not understand and I thought that they can go get water tiles quickly, I thought you needed a Research to be able to have Water tiles.

@@SerEnmei The rolled 'R' is a modern Te Reo Maori accent. In the 19th century the 'R' sound was recorded as being halfway between that of an 'R' and an 'L'. If you travel into the deep north you will find the 'R' isn't quite rolled, it is more like an almost rolled 'R'.
