Hey dude love the videos! You’re the best civ player I watch, and I’ve been kinda thinking of a cool challenge you could do. Try to win a deity game as the worst civ for a victory type and play against the AI that are the best for that same victory type. For example win a culture game playing against Pericles, Gorgo, Trojan, and other great culture civs but you play as one of the worst for culture and still try to win with culture. Basically you’re trying to use the worst civ for a certain type of victory and win against the best civs for that type of victory!

Regarding pronunciations... Don't worry. With the different dialects, you'd be forgiven if you were to mispronounce a few things based on the spelling. @Skycroft1000
@Skycroft1000 4 жыл бұрын
You can, but you often don't want to. Your science points are still being saved up, it isn't wasted. You may want to leave the option open so that, e.g. you can get mining if you land next to stone, astrology if you find a natural wonder, etc. Your accumulated science points will still be applied to the tech you choose (though with a minimum of 1 turn, the excess will roll over). Being able to accumulate science while leaving the option open is actually a large advantage that most civs don't get, picking a tech on turn 1 wastes it. Edit: in fact, you can see this at 4:04 Astrology costs 50 science and he makes 3.2 so it should be over 15 turns remaining (50/3.2), but instead it is 13 because of the 8 science he accumulated while sailing around the previous 4 turns (42/3.2).

I've done the exact same thing. got a 170 turn cultural victory on diety, while my best result otherwise was turn 219. as boring as it may seem, it was my favorite way of playing civ by min maxing my every move without the perils of being attacked

I'm less interested in min maxing than I am just having a chill game.

A few early tips for Maori here. 1. Don't build scouts. Build Warriors. They have the same naval movement and upgrade to Toa. 2. Don't settle your capital near too many land resources. You need fishing boats and a spot to get your harbour to +6 adjacency. Forrests/jungle are often better than bonus resources as Maori.

Being from NZL I love how you pronounce Marae, Ma-ray hahaha, btw it is strong Ma followed by Rai. Ma-rai, you can also roll the r if you want

I think it would be interesting to do the math on the “production value” of faith from Earth Goddess compared to fishing boat production. I feel like in a Kupe game with lots of woods and coast there would be tonnes of faith available to translate into settlers, campus and TS buildings, units and great people.

The only way to get religious settlements on high difficulties is probably getting a relic early from a village

Your civ vi plays are awesome and this one particular inspired me to do something similar. True start earth map, deity and I chose Greece with pericles while choosing the rest of the civs to be all North and South America based civs. I did however chose to also include Macedon cause it seems like they spawn next to Greece with a settler alone near Greece starting warrior. In my first run I lost cause of the Inca's massive science. But I did win in my second run where I did not include them. Maybe u can do a similar run. it was fun having 4 continent all to myself.

Talking about saying acronyms out loud, one of my favorite things to do is use redundant acronyms. I say "as asap as possible" all the time. That and "ham as af." That's "hard as a motherfucker as as fuck." I legit love it so much.

Best strat is to get 200+ gold per turn and rush planes and just buy a bunch of planes to dominate
