I mean, With all the unique quarters that scale with number of pop/territory/quarters, dividing up your cities seems like a bad idea. For example, the Opernhaus. It scales by giving you 1 Stability for every quarter you own. Now, having two of them gives you +2 Stability for every quarter. So if you concentrate your empire to 2-3 Cities with 10 territories each, you'll hit 0 stab cost per quarter. Because quarters cost 10 stab, but 10 Opernhouses in a city give you +10stab/quarter to entirely counteract this. Now you only need something to counteract the stab cost of attaching the entire world to your capital, which you can do easy by just having a few more Opernhouses, which you would get into your cap by absorbing your other cities. It's a self-solving problem. You also don't need to set aside more turns building infrastructure in(example) 5 cities with 500 production, but instead you build them instantly with your single 2.5k production city. The only downsides to going 1 city empire seem to be scaling quarter production cost and pop growth, everything else scales better the less cities you have. I suppose another downside would be halted production when any quarter of your city is involved with a battle. And possibly the scaling food costs for your ever increasing population. You really can tell that this game still has some rough edges when it comes to the scaling and balancing.

Changing cultures each era is what really sells the game for me. I got bored of Civ 6 quite fast, because on first turn one already basically knew what the plan is based on the civ. And if you get a bad map, bad RNG or whatever, it makes the whole playthrough painful - you can still win, but it will not be fun, you wont get to play into the civ strengths etc. In humankind, no matter the map, RNG or whatever you can always make it into a fun playthrough. It is really fun to just put as many settings on random and discover the map, discover the enemy cultures and just see where the game goes.

I feel like building a lot of makers quarters so late in the game in cities this big is not great: the gain in production is linear whereas the cost of new districts in the city grows exponentially, so at some stage districts become expensive faster than the gain in production.

1 GIGAcity is the move, you have a lot of districts that scale with the more districts/population count, so is times you have that distict in the city X times of whatever it scale in the city an example as the khmer district: if you have 2 cities with 2 Khmer emeblmatic district each, and 10 population each, you get 2x10=20 production on each, that totals to 40 something both cities. but if where to merge both cities you'd have 4 emblematic, and 20 pop, that would give you 4x20, that would give a total of 80 production notice the big difference with such small numbers, you have much more than 2 emblamtic districts on your current cities, and more than 10 pop haha another play is to have very small cities around, since you have machupitchu, so your gigacity would share 50% of it total food, that should be a lot, forcing the small cities to generate an insane population that you can migrate, making troops and disbading, to you gigacity and make it even stronger
