I did the grind and honestly i don't think it's that worth it. Alsace is my number 1 most played ship with 300 games with the Repub being a close 2nd and i would just recommend that you pick a better line and just get the Bourgogne, or the Jean Bart if it is available for holiday sales and before you ask why i play the line so much it is mostly because it's the line im most comfortable with and knowledgeable about, not because it's the best

It has quickly risen among my favorite bbs but no bb will ever eclipse Yamato as my favorite bb. Pretty close second place for repub. If it wasn't so susceptible to HE and SAP spam it would have a chance to take #1

@@mcbrite hey lad don't be so hard on yourself in the end its just a game. After a game you feel you did well in look back at what you did to give yourself the upper hand. Same with games you feel you did poorly in. Reflect and make adjustments. The French bbs are hard to get a good grasp on because of how much the ships differ from each other from tier to tier, especially when you compare republique to the rest of the line, big guns with a fast reload and a completely different turret layout and overall playstyle to the rest of the line. It can be a tricky ship to master especially if you try to play it like richie or alsace. The guns especially have a super wonky dispersion pattern compared to the rest of the line forcing you to adjust to how you aim your salvos. It's a tricky ship to learn but I'm sure you can figure it out

I own both Republique and Bourgogne and I just have a hard time deciding which one I like better. Granted Burger has 50% more shell volume, reload boost and speed boost but it doesn't have the base reload or overmatch of the Repub. I am very excited for Patrie, might be my first supership!

Lyon is a meme, but she is a BEAST in T7 ranked. Small maps, top tier, the close ranges means that your wonky dispersion doesn't matter as much, and 16 guns makes up for a LOT of shortcomings. Plus she's fast and has a lot of armor for her tier.

nice video, the first game was the how-to carry a game with the Azumeh doing odd stuff without the DD and the DD just suiciding on a Cleveland. Also for that first game, I'm gonna need your licence to the hunting CV lodge before you can use this Nakhimov pelt as a carpet. The second game illustrated a problem I have with this map, most of the time, one of the 2 team will simply flee this side of the map and it'll give simply free shots to the enemy team and the ability to simply cross the gap. But it is a fun side of the map to play through, got KS twice in the same game with a Drake on that side

Lyon and Richelieu are very good ships down the line. They are strongly armoured and punish broadsides.

In French line, Richelieu is really enjoyable : fast, agile, good gun, good protection. Only drawback are 30s reload for 8 guns, and 32mm protection. In T8, she can compete against any other BB, even premium (random & ranked).

I like this ship. I think I can say it is my favorite non premium Tier X BB. I agree with PQ, the low reload time helps take the sting away from horrendous RNG at times--but for the most part, the shots are good.

Horrendous RNG AT TIMES? Last night I took Repu for a spin and it couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn from the inside Granted, I’m most comfortable in DDs, so my expectations on dispersion and sigma may not be applicable to BBS, but, MAN, this ship really felt like shit

@@soffici1 I can agree that happens in most BBs. But I find Repub works pretty well. I'm a DD main honestly, but I like a few cruisers too. Warships is an arcade game with great graphics. I wish there had been a way to not have to have the tiers balanced but be more aligned to reality. That would require objectives and rewards to vary some what by tier. Not sure how to do this in a game.

There was a post recently on WoWS subreddit with a guy taking poll data (recent and old) and Bourgongne still showed up at the top for most fun and most impactful. I will be getting that ship in a few day when the coupon resets, so hopefully that is true!

I recently unlocked this ship but haven't played her much (so many other ships to grind up) but I should give her a few more games. At 7:20 you mention shooting the super structure with AP instead of worrying about changing ammo all the time, I have to agree. Been running my Atlantico and having to do just that at range and it is shocking how much damage you can get and how it builds up over time. Ideal? No, but better then bouncing rounds or shattering them and nobody like taking damage.

15:40 - I'm a firm believer in using heals early and often. If you end the game with a heal left, it should be considered a waste.

Republique is my favorite enemy when playing my Hinderburg, I usually get 10k each ap salvo if I get it broadside. For some reason it is quite easy to farm

I really like Repub, my issue is not being able to play it enough. Big guns with fast reload makes me happy, and to be honest, Bourgogne is somewhat of a letdown (it’s like Alsace, which I wasn’t a big fan of when I was grinding the line)

I recently got republique as well as it's legendary mod and while I agree that the extra reload is not often worth the range I really wanted to copy your full reload build so I wanted to ask would you say this standard survivability build is better or a full reload build? I'll likely keep reload bc it's more for memes and having fun but I'm sure plenty of people would like to see which has better performance. Also I'd love to see more pointers on good/unusual positions on maps like you did in both the first and second games. As you said in the second map too have stumbled into that position behind the big island before and done well but I hadn't realized it before

The thing I like about this ship is the fact that coming after Alsace, her reach is so long at stock that you don't feel the need to sacrifice rate of fire for range in slot 6. As for secondaries, I will take the secondary mod in slot 3 because I play a lot of co-op, but her commander will (when I unlock her on the live server) be survival biased.

That Puerto was a perfect illustration of just how thoroughly WG dumbed down an already frankly pretty dumb game when they decided to let everyone sail broadside and get away with it over and over. Good luck with that back in testing and immediately after release, LOL. Meanwhile, both Smolensk players topped their teams. I sure that's entirely random coincidence.

it's only a close game cause ur team was that bad. what are they doing? well... if u run a stat mod you'll likely find that they have less than 500 battles played. On the french BB line I'm currently on Jean Bart Jr. Gotta say, I miss the Reload Booster. On the plus side I finally got thru Monarch last night. Though, I'm about 15m short of unlocking and equipping the next one.

I have played through the Richelieu. It’s really good when angled and can hold a solid bow in position. But the guns can be a little odd sometimes. Alsace is actually super fun though. Not sure why anyone would badmouth it?

@@wtpiv6041 I guess for some the Alsace isn’t good, but the exact reasons I’m not sure. I ended up getting the Richelieu and Alsace and liked them both. Different but similar play styles with the turret placements but against everything except Russian armor it’s been quite good.

I would disagree. You have 32mm plating all over your ship and vulnerable to HE spam. BoS will go a long way for Republique. Brisk I see more suited for battlecruisers.

My issue with that is republique is already quite fast and has a large detect range with low reload so your not going to spend much time undetected. You will however spend a significant amount of time shooting and being shot at.

umm... that battleship's main advantage is the fast reload. What use is Brisk, if you're making use of it's reload? Also u have CV's, subs, and DD's that are more than happy to break the ability, too; and the Concealment is bad. (3-5 extra knots, combined with the straight line time it takes to get to a max speed...doesn't seem worth the points to me. Rather have Grease the Gears, or Priority Target, instead.)

I don't understand why you say that Repub is a good battleship. Why is it NEVER used by competitive clans in higher level CBs? How does it compare to Montana. I would appreciate understanding what it makes so good in randoms but so poor in CBs.

As far as CBs go, it gets outshined by other BBs, either the kremlin due to its tankiness and same overmatch or Ohio due to its longer range, quick heal and improved heal along with the same overmatch
